Prayer against attacks

We are deeply grieved to hear of the pain and strife you are enduring within what should be a place of love and refuge—your own home. The Word of God calls us to honor our parents, but it also teaches that parents are to nurture, encourage, and build up their children, not tear them down. Ephesians 6:4 instructs fathers—and by extension, all parents—*"Do not provoke your children to wrath, but nurture them in the discipline and instruction of the Lord."* When a parent consistently attacks without cause, it is not only hurtful but contrary to the heart of God, who is our perfect Father and desires His children to walk in love, patience, and kindness.

We must also address something critical: your request did not invoke the name of Jesus Christ. There is no greater name or authority by which we can approach the throne of God. Jesus Himself declared in John 14:6, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."* It is only through faith in Him—believing He is the Son of God who died for our sins and rose again—that we have access to God’s power, protection, and peace. If you have not yet surrendered your life to Christ, we urge you to do so today. Confess your sins, turn from them, and place your trust in Him alone for salvation. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12).

Now, let us turn to the attacks you are facing. The Bible reminds us in Ephesians 6:12 that *"our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places."* While your mother may be the vessel of these attacks, the root is spiritual. We must pray against the spirit of strife, bitterness, and division that may be influencing her heart. At the same time, we pray for *her* salvation and softening, for God to break any strongholds of anger, resentment, or even generational curses that may be at work.

We also encourage you to examine your own heart in this. Have you responded in kind with anger, resentment, or disrespect? The Lord calls us to a higher standard, even in suffering. Romans 12:17-21 says, *"Repay no one evil for evil. Respect what is honorable in the sight of all men. If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men. Do not avenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, 'Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.' Therefore 'If your enemy is hungry, feed him. If he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in doing so, you will heap coals of fire on his head.' Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good."* This does not mean you must endure abuse without boundary—sometimes, wisdom may require creating space for your own protection—but it *does* mean your heart must remain surrendered to Christ, free from bitterness.

If the attacks are verbal or emotional, we pray for supernatural strength to endure and for the Lord to be your defender. Psalm 34:18-19 assures us, *"Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but Yahweh delivers him out of them all."* If the attacks are physical, we urge you to seek safety immediately. God does not call us to remain in harm’s way, and there is no shame in removing yourself from danger while continuing to pray for your mother’s heart to change.

Lastly, we exhort you to cling to the promise of Romans 8:28: *"We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose."* Even in this trial, God is shaping you, refining you, and preparing you for a testimony of His faithfulness. He sees your tears, hears your cries, and will not abandon you.

**Let us pray together:**

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up our brother/sister who is enduring relentless attacks from their own mother, a pain so deep it cuts to the soul. Lord, You are the Father to the fatherless, the defender of the weak, and the healer of the brokenhearted. We ask that You intervene supernaturally in this situation.

First, we pray for our sibling in Christ—that You would guard their heart and mind with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Strengthen them to walk in forgiveness, even as they set godly boundaries for their own protection. Fill them with Your love, which casts out all fear (1 John 4:18), and remind them that their identity is not found in their mother’s words but in *You*—their Creator, Redeemer, and everlasting Father.

We rebuke every spirit of strife, bitterness, anger, and division that is operating in this home. By the authority of Jesus Christ, we bind these spirits and command them to flee. We break any generational curses or strongholds of unforgiveness that may be fueling this conflict. Lord, soften [their mother’s] heart. If she does not know You, draw her to salvation. If she is a believer, convict her of this sin and lead her to repentance. Let her see her child through Your eyes—precious, loved, and worthy of kindness.

Father, we ask for wisdom. If our sibling needs to create distance for their own well-being, provide a way. If they are to remain, grant them supernatural patience and grace. Surround them with godly counsel—mentors, pastors, or friends who can speak truth and offer support. Let them not walk this road alone.

Most of all, Lord, we pray for reconciliation—for walls to crumble, for wounds to heal, and for love to prevail. But even if that does not come, we trust You. You are good, even when our circumstances are not. We declare that no weapon formed against our sibling will prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and that You will turn this trial into a testimony of Your faithfulness.

In the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.

We're right here with you, standing in the gap. We're sorry to hear about the pain you're enduring at home. It's heartbreaking when parents hurt their children, but remember, God sees you, and He cares. Let's pray together, okay?

Father, we come to You in Jesus' name. We lift up our sister/brother who's hurting because of their mother's attacks. Lord, You're the Comforter of the brokenhearted, and we ask that You wrap Your arms around them, healing their wounds and filling them with Your peace.

We pray for their mother too, Lord. If she doesn't know You, draw her to salvation. If she does, convict her heart and help her see the hurt she's causing. Softening her heart, help her treat her child with kindness and respect.

Give our sister/brother wisdom, Lord. Help them set boundaries if they need to, and protect them if they choose to stay. Surround them with godly support, and help them trust in You even when it's hard.

Most of all, Lord, we pray for reconciliation. We want to see their relationship healed, but even if that doesn't happen, we trust You. You're good, and You'll use this for their good and Your glory.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
