We hear the honesty and brokenness in your cry and we join with you before the throne of grace in Jesus name. You have named the cycle of pornography, the weight of debt, the fracture in your family, and the deep sense that your life is far from God, and we thank you for bringing it into the light. We want to pray with you for freedom, for restoration, and for the nearness of Jesus which you so deeply desire.

We must lovingly speak the truth about pornography, for it is not a harmless struggle but sexual immorality and sin against God and against your own body. Jesus taught that lust in the heart is adultery, Matthew 5:28, and Scripture commands us to flee sexual immorality, 1 Corinthians 6:18. Every form of pornography trains the heart to use another person for lust rather than honoring marriage as God ordained it, a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman. It defiles the mind, hardens the conscience, and keeps us from the presence of God, yet we rejoice that you want to be rid of it and to walk in purity. God does not leave us without hope, for He promises No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it, 1 Corinthians 10:13. We must take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ, 2 Corinthians 10:5, and make a covenant with our eyes as Job did, turning away quickly, installing filters, removing access, confessing to a trusted mature Christian brother for accountability, and filling the mind daily with Scripture. When we confess, He is faithful, If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness, 1 John 1:9.

You said you feel such a failure and so far from God. We understand that shame, but we rebuke the lie that you are beyond grace. There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, Romans 8:1, and as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us, Psalm 103:12. Your feeling of distance is real because unconfessed sin separates, but God draws near when we draw near to Him. Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded, James 4:8. We thank God that you named the name of Jesus, for it is only by that name we have access to the Father and it is the only name by which we are saved, Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, John 14:6, and There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12. If you have not fully surrendered your life to Him, we urge you to repent and believe that Jesus died for your sins and rose again, trusting Him alone to forgive and to make you new.

We also lift up your mum and dad. Marriage is holy in the sight of God and we pray for this marriage that is now a nightmare with silence between them. God hates division and calls us to put away bitterness and to forgive. Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander, be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you, Ephesians 4:31-32. We pray that pride would be broken and that they would speak again with love and humility. We also pray for your brother and your dad and the broken relationship there, and for work for them. We ask God to soften hearts and to provide employment that honors Him. Do not let the sun go down on your wrath, and do not give place to the devil, Ephesians 4:26-27, so we pray they will not let this wound fester but will pursue reconciliation quickly.

Your financial burden weighs heavily, with no money and deep debt and charges. We pray for wisdom and provision, remembering My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus, Philippians 4:19, and that we are called to steward what God entrusts to us. Owe no one anything, except to love one another, Romans 13:8. We encourage you to seek godly counsel for budgeting, to be faithful in little, to work diligently as unto the Lord, and to trust God rather than fear. Seek first God’s Kingdom, and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you, Matthew 6:33.

We pray together now for you.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, thanking You that this dear one longs for Your presence and for freedom. We confess before You the sin of pornography and all lust, and we ask You to forgive and cleanse through the blood of Jesus. Create in us a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within us, Psalm 51:10. Break this cycle by Your Holy Spirit, teach us to flee temptation, to walk in the light, and to find our satisfaction in Christ alone. Lift the shame of feeling like a failure and remind us that we are new creations in Christ and that Your grace is sufficient. Draw near to us as we draw near to You and fill us with Your presence and peace.

We lift up this mum and dad and their marriage. Lord, heal what is broken, restore communication, remove bitterness, and knit their hearts together again in love that honors You. We lift up the brother and dad, reconcile them, heal old wounds, grant forgiveness, and open doors for good and honest work to provide for their needs. Father, touch these finances, provide wisdom to steward well, to get out of debt, to pay what is owed, and to trust You for daily bread. Lead us out of darkness into Your marvelous light, for sin shall not have dominion over us, Romans 6:14. Make us free indeed, for if the Son makes us free, we will be free indeed, John 8:36. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, amen.

We encourage you to stay in the Word daily, to pray continually, to meet regularly with a faithful pastor or mature believer who will hold you accountable in purity and in finances, and to keep confessing quickly when you stumble. God is not finished with you, and He who began a good work in you will perfect it. Do not despair, for Your Father sees your desire to be free and He is able to deliver you completely.

Thank you for being so honest with us. We hear how heavy this feels, wanting to be free from pornography and to know the presence of Jesus again, while carrying shame and feeling like a failure, and at the same time watching your mum and dad not speaking, your dad and brother strained, and the pressure of being overdrawn and in debt.

Wanting to be free is not failure, it is God already at work in you. Shame often pushes us to hide and try harder alone, and that isolation can keep the cycle going. Freedom usually grows in the light with Jesus and with one or two safe people walking with you.

If it helps, here are a couple of steady next steps to consider alongside prayer:

For the cycle you named first, would you reach out this week to one trusted pastor, counselor, or mature Christian man to be honest with regularly, and ask about a small support or accountability group nearby? Many find that simple, consistent honesty and practical boundaries around internet use make a real difference over time.

For the financial pressure, which sounds so worrying right now, would you speak soon to your bank and to a free, reputable debt advice service or a stewardship ministry through a local church? You do not have to carry that alone either.

We are praying for you and your family.

Jesus, we bring this dear brother before You. You see his longing to be free and close to You, the strain in his parents' marriage and between his dad and brother, and the weight of debt and work needs. Give him Your nearness, strength to walk in the light one day at a time, and wisdom for each next step. Bring healing and peace to his family and provide for what he needs. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your honest and broken cry has been heard, and it is itself a token of mercy that you desire to be rid of sin and to know the presence of Jesus. The very longing you express is not from yourself alone, for the heart that is content to remain in sin never cries to be free from it.

You write that you feel such a failure and so far from God, and that you are deep in sin. Hear then the word of comfort which the Lord gives to those oppressed with guilt, that the Lord has not forsaken them that seek Him. If you seek Him now, you shall not perish. Do you remember when you first sought mercy, or do you seek it now for the first time, there is one way of hope and but one, for without shedding of blood there is no remission of sins. The whole life of Christ, His preaching and His travail, could not have saved a soul without His death, but on that green hill outside the city wall the Just died for the unjust that He might bring us to God. God Himself has proclaimed concerning him who is going down to the pit, I have found a ransom. That ransom is His own Son, who bore the penalty of all iniquities, and therefore your deliverance is certain when you trust in Him alone. The blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin, and if by faith you accept that matchless atonement which covers all your guilt, then you are even now among the blessed.

And mark this, the work of the Spirit is linked with the work of the Son. When the Son removes guilt, the Spirit removes guile. Deliverance from the power of sin is as much the work of God as deliverance from the guilt of sin. Where we look for justification, there must we also look for sanctification. You cannot by your own resolve break the cycle which binds you, for he who will be delivered must see that salvation is all of grace. He can do nothing and he knows it, and then God makes deliverance effectual and in every deed He brings him forth. Therefore do not stay in hiding, but confess all your guilt and heartily humble yourself in the sight of God. The man who once boasted that he was almost a saint now admits that he is altogether a sinner, and there finds blessedness, for guile is forsaken when guilt is forgiven.

This is the freedom Christ gives, to walk erect in conscious, moral and spiritual freedom, where obedience becomes freedom and Christ's yoke is easy and His burden is light. Flee from that which ensnares you, turn from every provision for the flesh, seek the Lord in His word and in prayer, and walk in open fellowship with His people where Christ is remembered. He will keep you.

We will pray for you, that the Lord who chastens sorely will also deliver fully, that He will give you victory over this sin through the atoning blood and the power of His Spirit, and that you will know the joy of His presence not as a distant hope but as a present reality.

We will pray also for your mother and father. Marriage is a lifelong covenant ordained by God for one man and one woman, and discord within it is grievous to Him who would have peace within our borders. We will ask the Lord to soften hearts, to turn them toward one another in truth and grace, and to teach them to speak again with love and forbearance.

We will pray for your brother and your father, that the breach between them may be healed. As Jacob crossed the brook fearing Esau and found his brother fall upon his neck and kiss him, so may the Lord bring reconciliation where there is now estrangement.

We will pray for work and for your finances, for you tell us you have nothing and are deep in debt and paying charges. The Lord knows your need, and we will ask Him to provide for you, to give you wisdom in stewardship, and to help you live in honesty and diligence before Him. None know what it is to be delivered till they have been tried, and the tried and tempted man will see clearly that his help is all of grace.

Take courage. If you had only heard of a ransom from the lips of man you might doubt it, but God Himself has said, I have found a ransom. Look to Jesus Christ alone for pardon and for power to live anew, and you shall not die but live and declare the works of the Lord.
