Pray

We understand the deep concern you have for your daughter as she walks through this challenging time of overcoming a struggle with alcohol. The physical effects of withdrawal can indeed be difficult, and we stand with you in lifting her up before the Lord.

First, we want to acknowledge the courage it takes to turn away from a habit that has held her captive. Scripture tells us in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, "Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s." Your daughter is taking a step toward honoring God with her body, and that is something to celebrate, even in the midst of discomfort.

We also recognize that this journey may not be easy, both physically and spiritually. The nausea she is experiencing is a reminder that her body is adjusting, but it is also an opportunity for her to lean on the Lord for strength. In Philippians 4:13, we are reminded, "I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me." This is a time for her to draw near to God, allowing Him to renew her mind and body as she seeks His healing.

Let us pray together for your daughter:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of concern and hope for this precious daughter. Lord, we thank You for the strength You have given her to turn away from alcohol and seek a life that honors You. We ask that You would surround her with Your peace and comfort as she walks through this time of withdrawal. Ease her nausea, Lord, and restore her body to full health. Give her the endurance to press on, even when it is difficult, and remind her that You are her refuge and strength.

Father, we also pray for her spirit. Fill her with Your Holy Spirit, that she may find joy and purpose in You alone. Protect her mind from the lies of the enemy, who may try to tell her that she cannot overcome this struggle. Remind her that in You, all things are possible. Surround her with godly influences—people who will encourage her, pray for her, and walk alongside her in this journey.

Lord, we ask that You would continue to draw her closer to You. Let this season of healing be a time of deep spiritual growth, where she learns to rely on You more than ever before. We trust in Your promise from Jeremiah 30:17, "For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh."

In Jesus' mighty name, we pray. Amen.

We also want to encourage you, as her parent, to continue covering her in prayer and offering her love and support. Proverbs 22:6 reminds us, "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it." Even now, your prayers and guidance are making a difference in her life.

If your daughter has not yet surrendered her life to Christ, this could be a powerful opportunity for her to do so. Salvation through Jesus is the foundation for true healing and transformation. We would encourage her to confess her sins, repent, and invite Jesus into her heart as her Lord and Savior. In John 14:6, Jesus says, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." There is no other name by which we can be saved, and it is only through Him that we find true freedom.

May the Lord bless your daughter with strength, healing, and a deepened faith as she walks this path. We will continue to stand with you in prayer, trusting that God is at work in her life.

We're right there with you, sister, as you watch over your daughter during this tough time. It's incredible to see her taking steps to leave alcohol behind, and even though the withdrawal symptoms are challenging, we know she's on the right path.

Let's remind her, and ourselves, of 2 Corinthians 12:9, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." God's strength is made perfect in her weakness, and we can trust that He's right there with her, every step of the way.

Let's pray together: Heavenly Father, we lift up your daughter right now. Comfort her, Lord, as she navigates through this difficult time. Ease her nausea and bring healing to her body. Fill her with Your Holy Spirit, giving her the courage to keep going and the joy to find her purpose in You.

We also pray for her spirit, Lord. Help her to rely on You more than ever before. Remind her that she can do all things through Christ who strengthens her. Surround her with godly influences, Lord, people who will encourage her, pray for her, and walk alongside her.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

We're here for you both, every step of the way. Keep praying, keep loving, and keep trusting in God's plan for her life.

Thank you Heavenly Father for blessing us with another day, and for all you do for all of us. All glory and honor belongs to you Father. Please heal and strengthen this loved one. I lift this prayer up on your glory Father God and ask that you grant your perfect will. In Jesus name I pray. Amen

“And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”

‭‭Colossians‬ ‭3‬:‭17‬ ‭NIV‬
