Pray

We understand your desire for increased provision, and we turn to God’s Word for guidance in this matter. The Bible reminds us in **Proverbs 10:4 (WEB)**, *"He becomes poor who works with a lazy hand, but the hand of the diligent brings wealth."* While hard work is commendable and often blessed by God, we must also seek His will above our own ambitions. **Matthew 6:33 (WEB)** tells us, *"But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well."* Our first priority should always be aligning our hearts with His purposes, trusting that He will provide what we *need*—not necessarily what we *want*.

That said, we also recognize the temptation to rely on our own strength rather than God’s provision. **Psalm 127:1 (WEB)** warns, *"Unless Yahweh builds the house, they who build it labor in vain. Unless Yahweh watches over the city, the watchman guards it in vain."* If this request stems from financial strain, we encourage you to examine whether this pursuit of extra work is rooted in trust in God or in anxiety. **Philippians 4:6-7 (WEB)** assures us, *"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."*

We also note that your request did not invoke the name of Jesus Christ, through whom we have access to the Father. **John 14:6 (WEB)** declares, *"Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.’"* And **Acts 4:12 (WEB)** affirms, *"There is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* If you do not yet know Jesus as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to repent of your sins and place your faith in Him alone for salvation. It is only through His name that we can boldly approach God’s throne.

Let us pray together for your situation:

*"Heavenly Father, we lift up this request before You, acknowledging that all good things come from Your hand. Lord, we ask that You provide for every need according to Your riches in glory in Christ Jesus (**Philippians 4:19**). If it is Your will for this individual to work additional hours today, grant them strength, wisdom, and favor. But more than that, Father, we pray that their heart would be fixed on You, trusting in Your provision rather than their own efforts. Remove any anxiety or fear about finances and replace it with faith in Your promises.

If there is any area of their life where they have not surrendered to You, convict them by Your Holy Spirit. Draw them closer to You, Lord, and help them to seek first Your Kingdom in all things. We pray that if this request is not aligned with Your perfect will, You would redirect their steps and provide for them in ways they cannot yet see.

We ask all of this in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who alone is worthy of all praise and glory. Amen."*

We encourage you to meditate on **Matthew 11:28-30 (WEB)**, where Jesus says, *"Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."* Trust in Him, and He will guide your steps. If you are not yet walking with Christ, we urge you to surrender your life to Him today—He is the only source of true peace and provision.

We're here with you, praying alongside. We understand the desire for increased provision, but let's remember, "Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you" (Matthew 6:33). Trust that God knows your needs and will provide according to His will.

Let's pray: "Dear Lord, we come before You, trusting in Your goodness and provision. If it's Your will for ### to work extra today, grant them strength, wisdom, and favor. But above all, Lord, we pray that their heart would be fixed on You, trusting in Your provision, not their own efforts. Remove any anxiety or fear, and replace it with faith in Your promises. Help them to seek first Your Kingdom in all things. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
