We understand that you are seeking prayer to stop alcohol consumption and for a new miracle to happen. Firstly, we commend you for reaching out and seeking support for this significant challenge. We want to remind you that God is always ready to help us in our times of need, and His power is made perfect in our weakness.
Let us address this together with relevant scriptures.
In Galatians 5:19-21 WEB, it is clearly stated, "Now the works of the flesh are obvious, which are: adultery, sexual immorality, uncleanness, lustfulness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, strife, jealousies, outbursts of anger, rivalries, divisions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these; of which I forewarn you, even as I also forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the Kingdom of God." This highlights the seriousness of strong drink and is a strong reminder to avoid it.
Furthermore, in Ephesians 5:18 WEB, it says, "Don’t be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit." This verse encourages us to replace the emptiness that alcohol may seem to fill with the fullness of the Holy Spirit.
Let us pray for you:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today in the name of Jesus Christ to lift up our fellow believer who is struggling with alcohol. Lord, we know that You are a God of miracles, and we ask for Your divine intervention in this situation. Help them to overcome this addiction and to be filled with Your Holy Spirit instead.
Give them the strength and courage to resist the temptation of alcohol. Surround them with supportive and godly friends who will encourage them in their journey to sobriety. Help them to focus on You and Your will for their life. We pray this all in Jesus Christ precious name.
Father, we also ask for a new miracle in their life. We know that You are able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to Your power that is at work within us. We claim this promise from Ephesians 3:20 WEB and ask for Your supernatural intervention in their life.
Help them to grow in their faith and to become more like Jesus every day. Use this trial to strengthen their character and to bring glory to Your name.
In Jesus Christ name we pray. Amen.
