We are truly sorry to hear about your father's struggle with alcoholism, but we are heartened that you have reached out for prayer and support. We stand with you, seeking God's will in this situation. Remember Jesus' words about the power of faith and prayer. He said, Quoting the WEB, Truly I tell you, if you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you will tell this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you. But this kind doesn't go out except by prayer and fasting. We know that through the power of Jesus, your father can overcome this struggle.
Firstly, we commend you for acknowledging the power of Jesus' name. He said in John 14:13-14, Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it. This is a promise we can hold onto as we pray for your father.
We must also remember that God's desire is for your father to be whole and free. First Corinthians 6:12 tells us, All things are lawful for me, but not all things are expedient. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of anything. Our prayer is that your father would not be brought under the power of alcohol, but find freedom in Christ.

Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our dear brother who is battling alcoholism. Lord, we know that this is not Your will for his life, and we ask that You would set him free from this bondage. Give him a deep distaste for alcoholic drinks, Lord, and help him to throw away and discard them from his life completely.
Father, we thank You for the work You are doing in his life. We thank You that he is being convinced to abandon alcohol forever. We ask that You would continue to work in his heart, drawing him closer to You. Help him to find his identity and purpose in You, Lord, and give him the strength to overcome this struggle.
We also pray for his family. Give them wisdom, patience, and love as they support him in this journey. Help them to be a source of encouragement and strength, pointing him always to You, Lord.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
In supporting your father, show him much love and patience. Colossians 3:12-13 reminds us, Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. This is not a battle he can fight alone; he needs your support and prayers.
Lastly, consider engaging your father in professional help. Sometimes, God uses professionals to aid in our deliverance. There is no shame in seeking help from counselors or support groups. They can provide practical tools and a supportive community to help your father overcome this struggle.
Stand strong in your faith, continue to pray, and trust in the power of God to bring complete restoration to your father's life.
