Pray the pastor make the fear God until it is terrifying God

Dexter2020

Faithful Servant
Pray the pastor make the fear of God until it is terrifying God by making it sound that Jesus' judgment day is fearful and be terrified of God until it is like unapproachable.

We understand your deep desire for the fear of the Lord to be preached with urgency and reverence, for it is the beginning of wisdom and the foundation of a holy life. The Scriptures declare in Proverbs 9:10, *"The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom. The knowledge of the Holy One is understanding."* And in Hebrews 10:31, we are reminded, *"It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God."* The fear of the Lord is not merely a trembling dread but a holy awe that leads to repentance, obedience, and worship. It is right to recognize the terror of God’s judgment, for the Lord is a consuming fire (Hebrews 12:29), and His wrath against sin is just.

Yet we must also remember that the fear of the Lord is balanced by His boundless love and mercy. In 1 John 4:18, we read, *"There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear has punishment. He who fears is not made perfect in love."* The same God who is to be feared is the One who sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to bear the wrath we deserved. The judgment day *is* fearful for those who reject Christ, but for those who are in Him, it is the day of redemption and glory. The pastor’s role is to proclaim both the terror of God’s judgment *and* the hope of salvation through Jesus Christ, who took our punishment upon Himself at Calvary.

The fear of God should never be preached in such a way that it drives people *away* from Him but rather that it drives them *to* Him in repentance and faith. In Luke 12:4-5, Jesus warns, *"I tell you, my friends, don’t be afraid of those who kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. But I will warn you whom you should fear. Fear him who, after he has killed, has power to cast into Gehenna. Yes, I tell you, fear him."* Yet this fear is not meant to paralyze but to turn hearts toward the Savior. The apostle Paul writes in 2 Corinthians 5:11, *"Knowing therefore the fear of the Lord, we persuade men,"*—not to despair, but to be reconciled to God through Christ.

Let us pray that your pastor would preach the fear of the Lord with boldness, wisdom, and balance—proclaiming the terror of judgment for the unrepentant while lifting high the cross of Christ as the only refuge. May he speak with the authority of Scripture, so that hearts are convicted, sinners turn to Jesus, and the church walks in holy reverence before the Lord.

**Prayer:**
Heavenly Father, we come before You with a heart that trembles at Your holiness and majesty. You are the Almighty God, before whom all creation must bow. We ask that You fill our pastor with the Spirit of wisdom and revelation as he preaches Your Word. Grant him the boldness to proclaim the fear of the Lord without compromise, that Your people may understand the gravity of sin and the terror of Your judgment. Yet, Lord, may he also lift high the name of Jesus Christ, the only Name by which we can be saved. Let the fear of You drive sinners to the foot of the cross, where mercy and grace abound. May Your church not take Your holiness lightly but walk in reverence, obedience, and love. Stir hearts to repentance, Father, and may many turn to You before that great and terrible day of the Lord. We ask this in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We've been reflecting on your prayer request and feel led to echo your heart's desire. Let's pray that our pastor would indeed make the fear of God terrifying, but in a way that draws us closer to Him, not pushes us away. We want to hear the message of God's judgment, yes, but also the message of His love and mercy, which is greater still (1 John 4:10). Let's pray that our pastor would preach with balance, wisdom, and the authority of the Holy Spirit, so that we, like the people in Nehemiah 8:5-6, would understand the words being read, receive their message with joy, and go our way to rejoice in the Lord. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We want to thank you for allowing us to join you in lifting up your pastor before the Lord’s throne, crying out for a mighty work of the Holy Spirit to instill in him a deep, reverent awe of God. These past few days, we have continued to intercede with you, asking the Father to so fill your pastor’s heart with the weight of His holiness that it transforms his preaching, his leadership, and his very walk with Christ. We’ve prayed that the fear of the Lord would rest upon him—not as a spirit of timidity, but as a holy trembling before the One who holds eternity in His hands, the One before whom even the seraphim cover their faces. We’ve asked God to give him visions of the judgment seat of Christ, that the reality of Jesus’ return would grip his soul and compel him to preach with urgency, brokenness, and unshakable conviction.

If you’ve seen even the slightest shift in your pastor’s heart—a greater solemnity in his messages, a deeper hunger for God’s presence, or a newfound burden for the lost—we urge you to share it with us as a praise report. Even the smallest answer is a testament to God’s faithfulness and will encourage all of us to keep pressing in. But if the battle still rages, if the need for this holy fear in his life remains as urgent as ever, do not hesitate to bring this request before us again. We are here to stand with you in the gap, to keep crying out until the Lord renders the heavens and pours out His Spirit upon your pastor in ways that leave no doubt of His power.

Let us also remind you, beloved, that while we pray for your pastor, we are covering *you* as well. Intercessory burdens like this are not light, and we ask the Lord to strengthen you, to guard your heart from discouragement, and to fill you with His peace as you seek His face. May He remind you that He is the One who searches hearts and moves upon men—no prayer offered in faith is ever wasted.

We will continue to lift this need before the Father, trusting that He who began this good work will bring it to completion. May God bless you richly as you pursue Him, and may you sense His nearness in this season of fervent prayer.

In Jesus’ name.
