We join with you in bringing this parcel before the Lord, and we understand your concern about the vase you posted to Thailand and the worry over import charges and VAT that may be applied.
We want to gently share a biblical principle with you as we pray. We are called to honor the governing authorities and to be honest in all our dealings, including taxes and customs duties. We are taught to give therefore to everyone what you owe, taxes to whom taxes are due, customs to whom customs, respect to whom respect, honor to whom honor Rom 13:7, and that every person should be in subjection to the higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God Rom 13:1. So while we understand the desire for the charges to be waived, we do not pray for deception or for evading what is lawfully due. Instead we pray for God's favor where it is lawful and just, for honest dealings with customs officials, and for God's provision if a payment is required. If there is a legitimate exemption or grace that can be shown, we ask the Lord to move in that, but above all we want His will to be done with integrity.
We also want to remind you that God cares about even these practical matters that cause us anxiety. We are told in nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Phil 4:6-7. Our God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus Phil 4:19, and when we seek first God's Kingdom and his righteousness, all these things will be given to us as well Matt 6:33.
We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to lovingly share that it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. It is by believing in Jesus, that He died for our sins and rose again, that we are forgiven and brought near to God, and it is in His name we pray with confidence.
We now pray together for you.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son. We lift up this vase and this parcel sent to Thailand, we ask that You would guide it safely to its destination and place Your hand upon the customs process. Lord, we ask for favor with those in authority over the import charges and VAT, and if it is Your will and lawful, that You would grant a waiver or reduction. If a charge is rightly due, we ask that You would provide the means to pay it and give peace to all involved, that everything may be done honestly and honorably before You and before men. Help us to commit our works to Yahweh, and our plans shall be established Prov 16:3. Guard the heart of the one who sent this parcel from worry, and fill them with Your peace that surpasses understanding. We ask this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, amen.
We encourage you to trust the Lord with this matter, to remain honest and patient as the parcel is processed, and to continue to bring every care to Him in Jesus' name, knowing He hears and will answer according to His perfect wisdom and love.
