We lift up your daughter before the Lord, knowing that He cares deeply for her heart and struggles, even those she may not fully understand. The act of plucking her eyebrows and eyelashes may be tied to anxiety, stress, or a deeper spiritual battle, and we must approach this with both compassion and biblical wisdom. The body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, and we are called to honor God with it (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). Self-harm, even in subtle forms like this, is not God’s will for His children, as our bodies are fearfully and wonderfully made by Him (Psalm 139:14).
This behavior could also be a sign of an underlying emotional or spiritual stronghold. We must pray for her mind to be renewed by the truth of God’s Word, that she may cast down every imagination and high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5). If there is anxiety, fear, or a lie she has believed about herself, we ask the Lord to expose it and replace it with His peace and truth. Philippians 4:6-7 reminds us, *"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."*
We also encourage you to speak with her gently but firmly about this, ensuring she knows she is loved and that her worth is found in Christ alone. If this behavior persists, it may be wise to seek godly counseling or medical advice, as sometimes these struggles have both spiritual and physical components. Proverbs 22:6 instructs us to *"Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it."* Your role as her parent is vital in guiding her toward health and wholeness in the Lord.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this precious daughter who is struggling with this harmful habit. Lord, we ask that You would break every chain of anxiety, fear, or confusion that may be driving her to do this. Fill her heart with Your peace and remind her that she is fearfully and wonderfully made in Your image. Convict her spirit, Holy Spirit, and give her the strength to stop this behavior, replacing it with habits that honor You.
We rebuke any spiritual stronghold or lie of the enemy that would tell her she is not enough or that she must alter herself to be accepted. Let her find her identity in Christ alone, knowing that she is chosen, loved, and beautiful in Your sight. Give her parents wisdom to guide her with love and truth, and surround her with godly influences who will speak life into her.
If there is a deeper emotional or spiritual root to this, Lord, we ask that You expose it and bring healing. Lead her to repentance if needed and fill her with Your joy and confidence. We declare that she is free from this bondage in Jesus’ name, and we thank You for the victory You are bringing in her life.
Strengthen her, Lord, and let her testify of Your goodness as You restore her. We ask all this in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Healer. Amen.
