We join you in prayer over this visa extension application and we understand the weight and uncertainty you are feeling as you wait for a decision. We are encouraged that you have brought this request before the Lord and that you asked in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved. As it is written, Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6 and There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. We rejoice that you know to come in His name.
We are reminded that God is sovereign over all authorities and over every door that opens and closes in our lives. The heart of those in authority is in the Lord's hands. Proverbs 21:1 says The king's heart is in Yahweh's hand like the watercourses. He turns it wherever he desires. We also take comfort in knowing that His favor rests on those who trust Him, for Psalm 5:12 tells us For you will bless the righteous, Yahweh. You will surround him with favor as with a shield. We believe God opened this first door for you as you said, and we trust He is able to keep it open if it is His will for you to remain, and to close it or redirect you if He has a better purpose elsewhere. For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future Jeremiah 29:11.
We encourage you to continue to trust fully in His goodness and to rest in His peace while you wait, bringing every anxiety to Him in prayer. Philippians 4:6-7 says In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. We also encourage you to ensure that all that was submitted was truthful and done with integrity before God and before the immigration authorities, for Romans 13:1 reminds us that governing authorities are appointed by God and we are to honor them with honesty. We know you sent what you were able to, and we pray the Lord honors your honest effort. Even if the outcome is not what you hope for, we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose Romans 8:28.
We now pray together for you.
Father in heaven, we come before you together in the mighty name of Jesus and we lift up this dear one to you. Lord, you know the details of this visa extension application, you know every document that was sent and you know the heart behind it. We ask for your mercy and your favor to rest upon this application. We ask that you would guide the eyes and the heart of whomever reviews it at the immigration office, and that if it is your will, you would grant this extension and let no just cause be found to deny it. We pray that your will be done above all, and that you would open this door if you desire this one to remain, or gently close it and make clear your next path if you have another place for them. Grant peace that surpasses understanding while waiting, remove fear and anxiety, and provide for every need according to your riches in glory. Let this situation be a testimony of your faithfulness and your sovereign hand. We ask all of this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ our Lord, amen.
