We understand your concern for your friend who is struggling with hoarding. Let us respond in a way that is in accordance with God's word. It is important to pray for your request. It is only in the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to God to pray. Therefore, it is important that you pray to God but in the name of Jesus Christ.
1 John 5:13-14 These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may believe in the name of the Son of God. This is the boldness which we have toward him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us.
Let us begin by praying for wisdom and guidance.
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up our friend who is battling with hoarding. We ask that You open her eyes to see that her actions are not beneficial but harmful. Help her to understand that true security and happiness are found in trusting You, not in accumulating possessions.
Jesus, we ask that You reveal to her that her hoarding is a form of idolatry. We must not love the things of this world more than we love You.
Matthew 6:19-21 “Don’t lay up treasures for yourselves on the earth, where moth and rust consume, and where thieves break through and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consume, and where thieves don’t break through and steal; for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."
Father, help her to see that her actions are not only harmful to herself but also to those around her. Give her the strength to let go of her possessions and to trust in You.
We also pray that You would ban her from all the places she could get her hoard, whether through her mother, electronic platforms, or charities for the needy. Help her to see that she is not saving money by hoarding but wasting more resources, and that she does need so much things to create a false façade of security.
Lastly, we pray for ourselves that we may be a light in her life, guiding her towards a life free from hoarding. We ask for guidance in how to support her and to be there for her.
Father, we ask that You give her a heart that hates the things of this world and loves You above all else. Help her to discard her possessions and to live a life free from the bondage of hoarding. Bring these things to her mind immediately and help her to change her life.
We ask this in Jesus' name, Amen.
Be encouraged by the promise in Romans 8:28. We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. Keep trusting God and keep praying. You have prayed a bold prayer and we support you in that.
