Pray that all wars are de-escalated

Father, please calm the flames of war. There are several countries which seem to be considering using a nuclear weapon! Please de-escalate this, and protect all the world from any nuclear war. Please calm all disputes and please end the wars. Please protect our farmers and their crops and protect the food supply for all of the world. Father, there are many signs which point to the Last Days. Help us not to fear, and not to waste time. Help us to spend our time and resources GETTING PREPARED. Please provide guidance as to how to get prepared. Please wake people up and wake up churches who are not paying attention to the signs all around them. In Jesus' name, Amen.

We join you in lifting this urgent burden before our Father in Jesus' name and we thank you for coming to Him through Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the throne of grace. We agree with you in asking for mercy over the nations and for the de-escalation of every conflict that threatens to consume lives and creation.

We hear your concern about the flames of war and the terrible threat of nuclear weapons. The Lord knows these fears and He calls us to bring them to Him. You will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled, for this must happen, but the end is not yet Matthew 24:6. Even as we see these things unfolding, we take comfort that God remains sovereign over the nations. He makes wars cease to the end of the earth. He breaks the bow, and shatters the spear. He burns the chariots in the fire Psalm 46:9. We pray for our leaders and all in authority, that God would give them wisdom and restraint, as we are urged to make petitions, prayers, intercessions, and givings of thanks for all men, for kings and all who are in high places, that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence 1 Timothy 2:1-2.

We also lift up our farmers and the food supply with you. God is our provider who causes the grass to grow for the livestock, and plants for man to cultivate, that he may produce food out of the earth Psalm 104:14. We ask Him to protect the hands that work the land, to guard the crops from destruction, drought, and the fallout of war, and to ensure that the hungry are fed, remembering His promise that our God will supply every need of ours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:19.

You are right to discern the signs of the Last Days and to desire to be prepared rather than fearful. Jesus told us to watch therefore, for you do not know what day your Lord comes Matthew 24:42 and we are reminded that it is now the time to awake out of sleep, for now is salvation nearer to us than when we first believed Romans 13:11. We do not need to live in fear, for God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control 2 Timothy 1:7, and His peace which surpasses all understanding will guard our hearts and our thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:7. That peace allows us to redeem the time, looking carefully how we walk, not as unwise, but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil Ephesians 5:15-16. True preparation begins with spiritual readiness, abiding in Christ, watching and praying, sharing the gospel while there is still time, and walking in obedience. From that place of spiritual readiness, we can also be wise stewards practically, providing for our households and being ready to help others, as the ant prepares her food in the summer Proverbs 6:6-8, not from panic but from diligence and trust.

Father, in the name of Jesus we come before You and ask You to have mercy on this world. Please calm the flames of war by Your mighty hand. Restrain the pride and anger of men, turn the hearts of leaders toward peace, and forbid the use of nuclear weapons. Protect innocent life and bring de-escalation where escalation is threatened. Lord, speak peace to the nations and let Your will be done. We ask You to place a hedge of protection around farmers and farmland everywhere, to bless the planting and the harvest, and to preserve the global food supply from disruption and contamination. Provide for Your people and show us how to be faithful stewards of what You have given us.

Father, wake us up and wake up Your church. Help us not to slumber while the signs You spoke of are all around us. Keep us from fear and from wasting the time You have given us. Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom Psalm 90:12, and to live with lamps full of oil, ready for Your return. Guide each of us to know how to prepare spiritually and practically, to use our time and resources for Your glory, to love our neighbors, and to proclaim the hope we have in Jesus while there is still time. We trust You as our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble Psalm 46:1. Let Your peace rule in our hearts. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

We have been carrying this burden with you in prayer. Watching headlines about escalating conflicts and talk of nuclear weapons can leave anyone feeling on edge, and we hear your desire not to live in fear but to use your time well.

It makes sense that your heart is going both to the big picture, peace for the world and food for families, and to the personal question of how to be ready. When fear rises, it helps to give it a place to go rather than letting it circle. One simple practice that helps many is to turn the moment you would check the news into a moment to pray specifically for what you just read, then step away and return to the faithful work God has put in front of you today.

For getting prepared, we find it steadying to think in two lanes, spiritual readiness and everyday stewardship. Staying rooted in prayer, fellowship and serving your church keeps you awake in the way Jesus calls us to be. On the practical side, caring faithfully for your home, resources and neighbors, and talking with your pastor or a mature believer about wise, calm preparation, can keep preparation from becoming panic.

Father, we lift the nations to You and ask for Your mercy to de-escalate wars and restrain the use of terrible weapons. Protect farmers and the food supply, calm disputes and guard hearts from fear. Guide our friend here with clear wisdom for each next step and keep Your church alert and hopeful as we trust You. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Your burden for the nations has been brought before the Lord with you, and we join our prayers to yours for mercy in these troubling times.

The Scriptures give us a sure word for such an hour as this, You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. That peace is not the false peace of which it is said they cry peace, peace where there is no peace, but a true and present possession purchased by the blood of Jesus which whispers peace within. Even when duties press and the world is dark with sin, and even when the future is all unknown, we may rest in this, Jesus we know, and He is on the throne. He is not moved, though the nations rage and threaten terrible weapons. The Lord has endless, boundless peace within Himself, and He can both create and sustain peace among men according to His sovereign will.

You have asked that wars be de-escalated and that the dread of nuclear destruction be stayed. We pray with you that the Lord in His mercy would calm the flames of war, restrain the hands of rulers, and frustrate every counsel that would bring such desolation upon His creation. We ask Him to remember mercy in judgment, to preserve life, and to give wisdom to those in authority that disputes may be calmed and peace pursued. We also lift before Him the farmers and the fields and the food supply of the world, for every harvest is from His hand, and we entreat Him to protect the laborers and the crops upon which so many depend.

You speak also of the signs of the Last Days and of the need to be prepared and to see churches awakened. This is a right and needful concern. Our Lord would have us not waste time in slavish fear, for perfect love casts out that fear which has torment, yet there is a holy fear which is the beginning of wisdom and which moves us to action. As it is written, By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear and prepared an ark. Faith was the living principle and fear was the moving power, and obedience was the gracious fruit. So we are to be moved, not to a panic which dishonors God, but to a diligent preparation.

How then shall we get prepared. The word of the Lord is, O Israel, return unto the Lord your God. Preparation begins not with storing alone, but with being reconciled to God through Jesus Christ, for He alone is the way of salvation. To trust under the shadow of His wings is to find mercy and grace and peace beyond all we could have dreamed. When we are at peace with God through the blood of atonement, we have peace from lips that cannot lie and from a heart that cannot change. Then we labor to keep our minds stayed upon Him, to watch and pray, to do the will of Jesus which is rest, to walk in obedience and holiness, and to redeem the time by spending our resources for His glory and the good of souls.

We pray also that the Lord would wake those who slumber. Many are kept in a false peace through companionship and carelessness, but the fear of the Lord gives strong confidence and drives us straight ahead in faithful witness. May He awaken His people to discern the times, to preach the truth with love, and to live as those who look for an expected end, not a dreaded end. For the Lord says, I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you an expected end. For the believer, death and eternity are not a fearful unknown but an expected hope, because Christ reigns.

Therefore let us pray together, Fear not, is the word that comes again and again from our Lord to His people. Fear not, for I am with you. Fear not, I will help you. Let us labor to get rid of unbelieving fear, which weakens and dishonors God, and let us cultivate that filial fear which reverences Him and trusts His promise.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, we ask You to restrain war and cause de escalation among the nations. Stay the threat of terrible weapons and preserve the world from such destruction. Calm disputes, turn hearts toward peace, and protect the farmers, the fields, and the whole provision of food. Forgive us where we have been careless, and return us unto Yourself. Help us not to fear as those without hope, but to trust You whose mind is stayed on You is kept in perfect peace. Teach us how to prepare, to be found in Christ, watchful, obedient, and fruitful, and awaken Your churches to heed Your word and proclaim Your gospel while there is time.
