Pray that all wars are de-escalated and ended, with no nuclear weapons used

We join you in bringing these urgent burdens before the Father in the name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and Savior.

We pray with you for mercy over the nations. Father, in Your sovereignty restrain the hands of those who make war, turn the hearts of leaders toward restraint and peace, and in Your mercy prevent the use of nuclear weapons. We ask You to protect innocent lives, to bring de-escalation where there is escalation, and to bring an end to wars that bring so much suffering. We pray for Your protection over farmers, over their labor and their crops, and over the food supply for the whole world. You are the One who gives rain and season and harvest, and we ask You to sustain what is needed for life.

We also hear your desire not to fear in the face of troubling signs, and to use the time well. Scripture tells us not to be alarmed as though these things were outside God's control, but to be watchful and ready. The most important preparation is preparation of the heart. That means turning from sin and trusting fully in Jesus Christ for salvation, for there is no other name by which we are saved, and walking with Him daily in a clean and faithful life. Sin is what truly defiles the soul, and God calls us to a clean heart, to repentance, to confession, and to holiness.

To be prepared is to be grounded in the gospel of peace. It is to know Christ, to abide in His Word, to pray, to gather faithfully with His people, to live a virtuous life that is ready for His return at any time, and to share the good news with others while there is time. We encourage you to give yourself to these things: steady reading of Scripture, prayer, fellowship in a faithful church, obedience in daily life, and telling others about salvation through Jesus alone. As you do, you will not be driven by fear, but by faith and love.

We also pray as you asked that God would awaken many who are sleeping spiritually, including churches that are not paying attention. May the Lord open eyes to see the times, to repent, to seek Him earnestly, and to live for what endures.

Practical stewardship of resources and caring for your household with wisdom is good, but our ultimate security is not in our own preparation, but in Christ Himself. If we are at peace with God through Jesus, we can face any trial without terror, knowing that victory has already been won and that He will keep those who are His.

Father, we ask You to grant peace where there is war, protection where there is danger, provision where there is need, and wakefulness where there is sleep. Help us all to redeem the time, to live holy lives, and to be ready for the day of Christ. We ask all this in the saving name of Jesus. Amen.

Your prayer reflects a heart that is watching the world with seriousness and wanting to honor God with how you use your time and resources, and that is a good place to be.

Scripture is clear that the beginning of real wisdom is reverence for the Lord, and to reverence Him is to hate evil and turn away from it. That turning brings health to the soul and steadiness to life. When people refuse that reverence, they despise wisdom and instruction and choose a path that ends in bitterness, even though it may look sweet at first. The call for each of us, and for churches that have grown sleepy, is to choose the fear of the Lord, to listen to His counsel, and to walk in that reverence every day while considering where our path is leading. One path ends in destruction, the other in eternal life with Jesus, so it matters which way we walk.

You are right to notice the wars and threats of greater weapons. The Bible traces wars not only to borders and politics but to the lusts that war inside people. When a heart is at war with God there is inner turmoil, and that turmoil spills out into conflict with others. The wisdom that comes from this world leads to strife and fighting, but the wisdom that comes from God brings peace, first peace with God through the blood of Jesus who says come let us reason together, though your sins are as scarlet they shall be white as snow. When that peace is received, the inner war ceases and we can pursue peace with others. God knows the end from the beginning, and He has not lost control of the nations even when they rage.

That is why the repeated word from God to His people in times of shaking is fear not, for I am with you. The presence of the Lord is what drives out fear. When we forget Him, fear rises. When we remember Him, faith rises. Fear and faith cannot rule the heart at the same time. Where fear takes over, faith leaves, and where faith is strong, fear must leave. The psalmist said though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I will fear no evil for You are with me. We do not need to be afraid of sudden fear or of the desolation that comes upon the wicked, for the Lord will be our confidence and keep our feet from being caught.

This helps us understand preparation. Preparation should not be driven by panic. Reactions made out of fear are often wrong, and the enemy uses fear to move us in wrong directions. Wise and prudent care is right, but it is done in faith, not in fear. If God is to protect us, He can protect us wherever we are, and our trust is in Him, not in a hiding place. Spiritually, the first preparation is to be cleansed from sin through Jesus and then to live a consecrated life to Him, with ears open to His voice, hands ready to do His work, and feet ready to walk in His way. In practical terms, honoring the Lord with what He has entrusted to us and with the first of our increase is part of walking wisely, and that includes simple, faithful stewardship of food, resources, and care for those under our charge, like farmers and the food supply you mentioned. God cares for those things and He hears prayer for them.

So we can pray together. Father, in the name of Jesus we ask You to restrain the hands that would escalate war and to hold back the use of terrible weapons. Calm disputes between nations and bring deescalation where there is now tension. Show mercy to the world You have made. Protect those who grow and harvest food and preserve the supply that sustains life. For those who are anxious about signs of the last days, replace fear with faith as they remember that You are with them and that You know the end from the beginning. Wake up hearts that have been dull, and wake up congregations that have not been listening, that they would choose the fear of the Lord, hate evil, depart from it, and walk in Your way. Teach us to use our time and resources not to waste them but to be ready, first in heart and then in wise, quiet stewardship, trusting You to be our confidence. Amen.
