We join you in lifting this burden to our Father in heaven, who is sovereign over the nations and merciful to those who call upon Him.

We pray with you that the Lord in His mercy would restrain the violence of war and bring de-escalation where there is escalation. We ask that He would grant wisdom and restraint to leaders and turn hearts away from destruction, and that He would in His providence protect the world from the horror of nuclear war. May He who rules over all calm disputes, frustrate evil counsels, and in His time bring these wars to an end.

We ask also for His protection over farmers and over the land, that He would guard the crops and preserve the food supply for all people. He is the One who gives rain in season and causes the earth to yield its fruit, and we ask Him to sustain what is needed for life.

We hear your concern for the signs of the times and we pray that the Lord would keep you and all His people from fear that paralyzes and from wasting the time He has given. Scripture teaches us that true preparation is not anxious storing or speculation, but readiness of heart. To be prepared is to live a virtuous life, to have our feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace, to be at peace with God through Christ and at war only with sin and the evil one. So we pray that God would guide you to prepare by turning more fully to Him, by washing the soul clean through repentance and confession, by hearing His Word, by prayer, and by walking in holiness and love. This is the cleansing that matters, for nothing defiles except sin, and nothing prepares except a clean heart created by God.

We pray that the Lord would awaken those who are sleeping, and stir His churches to watchfulness, not with panic but with sobriety and hope. May He help us all to redeem the time, to use our resources for His glory, and to proclaim the good news while it is still called today, trusting that if we are at peace with Him, we need not fear what man or nations may do.

We commit these things to the Father, asking for His protection, His peace, and His guidance for you and for all, in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who has already won the victory and who will keep His own to the end. Amen.

Your prayer reflects a sincere and burdened heart for the world, and I join you in bringing these concerns before the Lord.

Scripture acknowledges that wars and rumors of wars will mark the age before Christ returns, and that strife among nations flows from the conflicts within the human heart. The wisdom that comes from this world is driven by desire and self interest, and it produces fighting and division. The wisdom that comes from God is pure and peaceable, and it brings peace first with God and then within our own hearts. That peace with God comes only through Jesus Christ, who invites us to be reconciled though our sins were as scarlet, that we might be made clean.

You asked for help not to fear as you see these signs. The Bible gives a clear cure for fear, and it is not trying harder to be brave. It is remembering that God is present with His people. Again and again the Lord says to His servants, fear not, for I am with you. David said, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil for you are with me. When we forget the Lord, fear rises. When we remember Him and live in conscious fellowship with Him, fear loses its hold. Faith and fear cannot rule the heart at the same time. Where faith and confidence in God are strong, fear must leave.

That is why the fear of the Lord is described as the beginning of wisdom and knowledge. It is not a cringing dread, but a reverent awe that comes from meditating on who God is, learning to hate what He hates and to love what He loves, and choosing to depart from evil. That reverence keeps us from being swept up in panic or in the fear that is so often spread in these days about war and calamity. The psalmist says, the Lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear. The Lord is the strength of my life, of whom shall I be afraid. Though war should rise against me, I will be confident, for in the time of trouble He will hide me in His shelter. We do not need to fear sudden terror or the desolation that comes upon the wicked, for the Lord will be our confidence and keep our feet from being caught.

You also asked how to get prepared and how to use time and resources wisely. True preparation begins spiritually. Before any other step, be sure you are cleansed from sin through faith in Christ and then live a life consecrated to Him, with ears open to His voice, hands ready to do His work, and feet walking in His path. Walk in the fear of the Lord all day long, considering where each path leads. The way of sin ends in destruction, however sweet it may seem at first, while the way of righteousness in Christ leads to eternal life. From that foundation, we are also called to be wise stewards. Scripture encourages us to honor the Lord with what we have and to act with prudence, but not to act out of fear or to make decisions driven by panic. We do what is wise and responsible because we trust God, not because we are trying to hide from Him or from trouble. If God intends to protect us, He can protect us wherever we are.

I also hear your burden for churches and for many who are not paying attention. The call of Scripture is to wake up, to return to meditation on God, to recover that reverent awe, and to become deep in our knowledge of Him rather than only broad and distracted. When we truly consider the end of our road, we will not envy the way of the wicked and we will not waste time. We will seek to live holy and watchful lives, sharing the hope of the gospel while there is time.

Let us pray together.

Father, in the name of Jesus we ask for Your mercy on the nations. You see the threats of war and the talk of terrible weapons. We ask You to restrain evil, to calm disputes, to move upon leaders to seek de escalation and peace, and to protect innocent lives. We ask You to watch over farmers and crops and the food supply around the world, for You are the one who gives rain and harvest. Guard provision for those who depend on it.

Lord, lift fear from Your people. Help us to remember that You are with us, that You are our light and our strength, and that Your presence dispels fear. Increase our faith and help us not to be motivated by fear but by trust in You. Teach us the fear of the Lord, to hate evil and to depart from it, and to walk in wisdom. Show each of us how to prepare rightly, first by being right with You through Christ, and then by stewarding faithfully what You have placed in our hands.

Awaken hearts that are asleep and churches that are distracted. Draw many to seek You while You may be found, before distress comes. Use us to speak Your peace to a troubled world. We trust Your promise that You will bring Your purposes to pass and that You will keep those who belong to You. In Jesus name, Amen.
