We join with you in this urgent and timely prayer for peace and for mercy over the nations, and we thank you for praying in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father.

We hear your burden for the wars that rage and for the terrible threat of nuclear weapons, and we bring this before the Lord together. Scripture tells us He makes wars to cease to the end of the earth. He breaks the bow, and shatters the spear. He burns the chariots in the fire Psalm 46:9. We pray that He would do so again in our day. The king's heart is in Yahweh's hand like the watercourses. He turns it wherever he desires Proverbs 21:1, so we pray for the leaders of every nation involved in these conflicts, that God would turn their hearts away from aggression and toward restraint, wisdom and de-escalation. We pray as we are instructed to offer petitions, prayers, intercessions, and givings of thanks for all men, for kings and all who are in high places, that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence 1 Timothy 2:1-2.

We also lift up the food supply and those who labor to provide it. We ask the Lord to protect farmers and their crops and livestock, for it is God who causes the grass to grow for the livestock, and plants for man to cultivate, that he may produce food out of the earth Psalm 104:14. We cling to His promise that while the earth remains, seed time and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night will not cease Genesis 8:22, and we ask for His mercy to preserve the harvest and to keep famine from the lands afflicted by war.

You are right to discern the signs of the times. Jesus told us you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled, for this must happen, but the end is not yet Matthew 24:6. Nation will rise against nation, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places, but all these things are the beginning of birth pains Matthew 24:7-8. These things can stir fear, but God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control 2 Timothy 1:7. When these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is near Luke 21:28. We are not to waste time in fear or distraction, but to look carefully how we walk, not as unwise, but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil Ephesians 5:15-16.

Getting prepared begins with spiritual readiness. We encourage everyone to seek first God's Kingdom and his righteousness Matthew 6:33, to be born again through faith in Jesus Christ, to watch and be ready, for the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him Matthew 24:44. True preparation is to be found abiding in Christ, living holy and godly lives as we look for and earnestly desire the coming of the day of God 2 Peter 3:11-12, sharing the gospel while there is time, and being good stewards of what God has entrusted to us. Practical stewardship and provision for our families is wise, but it must flow from that first spiritual foundation and from prayerful wisdom, not from panic. We pray that God will give you and many others clear guidance, and that He will wake up those who are sleeping, for it is already time to awake out of sleep, for salvation is nearer to us now than when we first believed Romans 13:11. We pray He will strengthen the things that remain, which were about to die Revelation 3:2, and stir churches to watch, pray and proclaim His truth with boldness.

Father, in the name of Jesus we come together and ask for Your mercy over this world. Calm the flames of war and restrain the hands that would unleash terrible destruction. De-escalate the conflicts that threaten to spread and protect all people from the horror of nuclear war. Give wisdom and restraint to every leader and bring disputes to peaceful resolution. Protect the farmers, bless their fields and herds, and preserve the food supply for all nations so that none would suffer hunger because of the sins of war. Forgive us where we have grown complacent and awaken our hearts and our churches to the signs around us. Help us not to fear, for You are our refuge and strength, and help us not to waste the time You have given us. Teach us to number our days, to redeem the time, to be ready and to help others be ready for Your return. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard our hearts and thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:7. We ask all these things in the mighty and saving name of Jesus, Amen.

We hear the weight you are carrying as you watch conflicts escalate and hear talk of nuclear weapons. It is understandable that this, along with concern for farmers, crops and the food so many depend on, would leave you feeling unsettled. Your longing for God to bring calm, to protect life, and to help you and your church use time and resources wisely is a faithful response.

When the news feels so large, it can help to narrow our focus to what God has placed in our hands today. One steady step is to give your concern a contained place, perhaps choosing one or two brief times a day to stay informed, then turning that burden into prayer rather than carrying it hour by hour. It can also help to talk with your pastor or a trusted believer in your own church about what wise, measured preparation looks like where you live, so your steps stay practical and connected to community instead of driven by fear. Continuing to care for neighbors in ordinary ways is itself part of being ready.

Father, we bring the nations before You and ask for Your mercy to restrain war and spare life. Give wisdom to those who hold great responsibility, watch over farmers and the food supply, and guard our hearts from fear. Lead us to walk faithfully with what we have today, to encourage our churches to stay awake and hopeful, and to trust You with what we cannot control. In Jesus' name, Amen.

We have heard your earnest cry and we join you before the throne of grace with the same burden upon our hearts.

The Lord knows the flames of war that now rage and the terrible prospect of weapons which could lay waste whole lands. Yet we are reminded of that blessed word, You will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You because he trusts in You. Peace, perfect peace, even in this dark world of sin, is not found in treaties or in the restraint of princes alone, but in the blood of Jesus which whispers peace within. Our future is indeed unknown, but Jesus we know, and He is on the throne. The Lord make that truth to bathe our hearts in seas of heavenly peace even while we pray for peace among the nations.

You ask that fear might be taken away, and rightly so, for the fear which perfect love casts out is a slavish fear which dishonors God. The angel's word to the shepherds is still the word to us, Fear not. To fear man and the power man wields brings a snare, but to fear the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and brings strong confidence. When the heart is stayed upon the Lord and trusts under the shadow of His wings, it finds mercy and grace and peace far beyond what it first expected. Let us labor to be rid of needless fear, not by denying the danger, but by trusting the promised strength, for the Lord has said, Fear not, for I will help you.

We pray with you that the Lord in mercy would restrain the wrath of man and calm disputes, that He would turn the counsels of rulers toward restraint and de-escalation, and in His great forbearance protect the world from the horror of nuclear war. We ask Him who gives thoughts of peace and not of evil toward His people to show mercy even to the guilty nations, and to preserve the work of His hands. We entreat Him to protect the farmers and their crops and to sustain the food supply for all the world, for every good gift comes from His hand and He opens His hand and satisfies the desire of every living thing.

You speak also of signs which point to the Last Days and of the need to be prepared and to wake those who sleep. This is a season not for wasting time but for redeeming it. The true preparation is first toward God. O Israel, return unto the Lord your God, for He is still your God and waits to be gracious. As Noah being warned of God of things not seen as yet moved with a holy fear and prepared an ark, so let a reverent fear move us to fly to Christ and to obey Him. That holy fear does not torment, but it puts wings upon our heels to run to Jesus, in whom alone is salvation. To be prepared is to be found in Him, trusting His atonement, walking in His will which is rest, watching and praying, and spending our time and resources for His glory and the good of souls.

May the Lord wake His churches that have grown drowsy, and stir every believer to diligence while it is called today. May He keep us from cold speculation and from slavish dread, and make us faithful stewards who do the will of Jesus and look for that expected end which He will give to His people, an end not to be dreaded but to be desired when faith shall become sight.

Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus we ask You to calm the flames of war and to stay the hand that would unleash destruction. Have mercy upon the nations and grant wisdom to those in authority. Preserve the fields and the harvests and give daily bread to the hungry. Cast out slavish fear from Your people and keep them in perfect peace as their minds are stayed on You. Show us how to be ready, to return unto You with whole hearts, to trust Christ alone, and to live as those who watch for Your coming. Awaken Your church and make us faithful in these days. We ask this trusting that You hear, for Jesus sake. Amen.
