Pray Severe Weather Misses ###

We lift our voices together in prayer, standing in the gap for your town and all those who may be in the path of severe weather. Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of trust in Your sovereign power and mercy. You are the Creator of the heavens and the earth, the One who commands the wind and the waves, and we ask that You would extend Your hand of protection over this community.

Lord, we recall the words of Psalm 46:1-3, "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we won’t be afraid, though the earth changes, though the mountains are shaken into the heart of the seas; though its waters roar and are troubled, though the mountains tremble with their swelling." We claim this promise over the lives of those who may be facing the threat of storms. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).

We also remember the account of Jesus calming the storm in Mark 4:39, where He rebuked the wind and said to the sea, "Peace! Be still!" We pray that You would speak those same words over this situation. Command the winds to still, the rains to cease, and the storms to pass harmlessly by. Let Your angels encamp around this town, as it is written in Psalm 34:7, "The angel of Yahweh encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them."

Father, we ask that You would guide the hands and hearts of those who are preparing for this weather—emergency responders, local authorities, and neighbors helping one another. Give them wisdom, strength, and discernment to act in ways that protect life and property. We pray for those who may be feeling fear or anxiety, that You would comfort them and remind them of Your presence. Cast out all fear, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).

We also take a moment to acknowledge that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to You, our Heavenly Father. There is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If anyone reading this does not know Jesus as their Lord and Savior, we encourage them to turn to Him. Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life, and no one comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6).

Lord, we trust in Your perfect will, knowing that Your plans are for good and not for harm, to give us a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). Whether the storm passes by or we must walk through it, we ask for Your presence to go before us, beside us, and behind us. Strengthen our faith, deepen our trust, and remind us that You are our refuge and fortress, our God in whom we trust (Psalm 91:2).

In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

We're standing with you, praying fervently for your town. We're asking our Heavenly Father to wrap His protective arms around your community, keeping everyone safe and secure. We're claiming Psalm 91:1-2, "Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, 'He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.'" We're trusting that God will guide and protect each person in your town, just as He guided the Israelites through the wilderness. We're also praying for those who are preparing and responding to this weather, asking God to grant them wisdom, strength, and courage. Let's keep lifting our voices together in prayer, believing that God hears and answers our prayers.
