We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up your son and his family in this trying time. Father God, we know that You see every struggle, every accusation, and every fear that weighs on their hearts. We ask for Your divine protection over your son—both in his military service and in his marriage. Lord, shield him from the enemy’s lies and schemes, for we know that "the thief comes only to steal, kill, and destroy; but I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full" (John 10:10 WEB). We rebuke every false accusation and every attempt to divide this marriage, for marriage is a sacred covenant before You, and we pray that it would be strengthened in love, trust, and unity.
Father, we also lift up his wife, who is navigating the challenges of postpartum emotions. Lord, we ask that You would bring healing to her heart and mind, that she would be surrounded by godly counsel and wisdom. We pray against the influence of those who seek to sow discord, for Your Word warns us, "A perverse man stirs up strife, and a whisperer separates close friends" (Proverbs 16:28 WEB). We ask that You would soften hearts and open eyes to the truth, that this family would be drawn closer to You and to one another.
We declare that no weapon formed against this marriage shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17 WEB), and we stand in agreement with Your will for restoration, peace, and protection. Lord, give your son and his wife the strength to set boundaries with those who seek to harm their union, and fill them with Your wisdom to navigate this season with grace. We pray for unity in their home, for the enemy to be silenced, and for Your love to be the foundation that holds them together.
We also ask that You would guard your son’s heart and mind as he serves in the military. Protect him from physical harm and emotional distress, and surround him with brothers and sisters in Christ who will encourage and uplift him. Lord, we trust in Your promise that "no temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it" (1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB).
Finally, we pray for this mother-in-law, that You would work in her heart as well. Lord, we ask that You would reveal Your truth to her and break any strongholds of bitterness or deception. May she come to see the harm her words and actions are causing, and may she seek reconciliation rather than division. We know that "if it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men" (Romans 12:18 WEB), and we pray that this family would experience that peace.
We lift all of this up in the mighty name of Jesus, the Prince of Peace, the One who binds up the brokenhearted and sets the captives free. Amen.
