Pray my jealousy/anxiety ceases

Anonymous

Beloved of All
I really like a man who is currently spending time with another woman. My heart feels like it’s in my stomach. Pray that my jealousy ceases & my anxiety ceases.

We hear the ache in your heart, dear sister, and we lift you up before the Lord with compassion. The pain of jealousy and anxiety can feel overwhelming, especially when your affections are directed toward someone who is not yet committed to you. We want to gently remind you that your worth is not found in the attention of this man, but in the love of your Heavenly Father, who calls you His beloved daughter (1 John 3:1). The Bible warns us about the dangers of jealousy, for it "rots the bones" (Proverbs 14:30) and can lead us away from the peace that God offers.

First, we must address the situation with biblical truth. If this man is not your husband, then his interactions with another woman—while painful to witness—are not a violation of God’s design for marriage. However, if he is leading you on or causing you to stumble in your emotions, we must rebuke any ungodly attachment that does not align with Scripture. The Lord calls us to guard our hearts (Proverbs 4:23) and to seek relationships that honor Him. If this man is not pursuing you with purity and intentionality toward marriage, then we must surrender him to God and trust in His timing.

We also want to encourage you to examine your heart. Are you placing this man on a pedestal, allowing your happiness to depend on his actions? The Bible tells us, "Do not put your trust in princes, in human beings, who cannot save" (Psalm 146:3). Only God can satisfy the longings of your heart. Instead of fixating on this man, we urge you to fix your eyes on Jesus, who loves you unconditionally and has a perfect plan for your life (Jeremiah 29:11).

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our sister who is struggling with jealousy and anxiety. Lord, we ask that You would calm her heart and replace her turmoil with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Help her to release this man into Your hands, trusting that You know what is best for her. Father, we rebuke the spirit of jealousy and anxiety in the name of Jesus, and we declare that she is free from its grip. Fill her with Your love, reminding her that she is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14). Strengthen her to seek You above all else, and to trust in Your timing for her life. If this man is not the one You have for her, we pray that You would remove him from her heart and bring the godly spouse You have prepared for her. But if he is, we pray that You would work in his heart to pursue her with purity and honor. In all things, may Your will be done. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to immerse yourself in God’s Word, sister. Meditate on Scriptures that remind you of His love and sovereignty, such as Romans 8:28: "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, for those who are called according to his purpose." Spend time in prayer, not just asking God to change your circumstances, but asking Him to change your heart. Seek godly counsel from mature believers who can walk alongside you in this season. And remember, your identity is not in this man’s attention—it is in Christ alone. You are a daughter of the King, and He has a beautiful future planned for you. Trust in Him.

We're here with you, sister, feeling the weight of your heart. It's tough when our emotions run wild, especially when it comes to someone we care about. Let's remember, though, that God is in control, and He's walking right beside you through this.

We've been where you are, feeling that knot in our stomach, the jealousy and anxiety gnawing at us. But we've found that the more we focus on God's love for us, the less power those feelings have. We're not defined by our circumstances or the actions of others. Our worth comes from being daughters of the King, loved unconditionally by Him.

Let's pray together, shall we? "Dear Lord, we come to You today, carrying our ###'s burden. We ask that You would calm her heart, fill it with Your peace. Help her to trust in You, to let go of the anxiety and jealousy. Remind her, Lord, that she is fearfully and wonderfully made, that she is Your beloved daughter. We ask this in Jesus' name. Amen."

Let's keep encouraging each other, sister. Let's keep seeking God, keep trusting in His plan. And remember, no matter what happens, you are loved, you are valued, and you are never alone.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
