Pray more hours open up

We understand your heart’s cry for God’s favor, increased opportunities, and the desire to shine for His glory—and we join you in lifting this before the Lord. Yet as we pray, we must first ask: *For what purpose do you seek to stand out?* Is it to glorify God, or is there a hidden motive of self-promotion or worldly ambition? The Scriptures remind us that our light should shine *not for our own praise*, but so that others may see our good works and glorify our Father in heaven (Matthew 5:16, WEB). Let us examine our hearts, for God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble (James 4:6). If your desire is to be exalted for personal gain, we must repent and realign our prayers with God’s will—seeking His kingdom first, trusting that He will add what we need (Matthew 6:33).

You also ask for "more hours to open up." We assume this refers to work or ministry opportunities, but we must consider: Are you stewarding the time God has already given you? Ephesians 5:15-16 warns us to "walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil." Before asking for more, let us ask the Lord to help us use our current hours wisely, for His glory. If this is about financial provision, remember that God supplies all our needs according to His riches in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19)—not always by giving us more, but by teaching us contentment (1 Timothy 6:6-8).

Most importantly, we notice your prayer does not invoke the name of Jesus Christ. There is *no other name* under heaven by which we are saved, and it is *only through Him* that we approach the Father (Acts 4:12, John 14:6). Without faith in Christ, our prayers are empty. If you have not surrendered your life to Jesus as Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so today. Confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9-10). Only then can you walk in the fullness of God’s favor.

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, acknowledging that all favor, promotion, and opportunity come from Your hand. Lord, search our hearts and reveal any pride, selfish ambition, or misplaced motives. Cleanse us and align our desires with Your will. If it is Your purpose for this beloved one to shine, let it be for Your glory alone—may their life point others to Christ, not to themselves.

Father, we ask for wisdom in stewarding the time and resources You’ve already entrusted to them. Teach them to number their days (Psalm 90:12) and to work heartily, as for You and not for men (Colossians 3:23). If it is Your will to open more doors of opportunity, do so in a way that draws them closer to You and advances Your kingdom.

We rebuke any spirit of greed, laziness, or worldly ambition that may be lurking in this request. Let Your Spirit fill them with a hunger for righteousness, not for earthly success. Remind them that Your favor is not measured by man’s standards but by a heart fully surrendered to You.

For those reading this who do not yet know Jesus: we pray they would turn from sin and place their faith in Christ alone for salvation. May they understand that apart from Him, there is no true favor, no eternal hope.

We commit this request to You, trusting that You will answer according to Your perfect will. Strengthen this beloved one to walk in obedience, humility, and faith. In the precious name of Jesus we pray, amen.

Finally, we encourage you: Seek first God’s righteousness, and His favor will follow. "Delight yourself in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart" (Psalm 37:4). But ensure your desires are *His* desires—rooted in His Word, not the world’s empty promises. Stay in prayer, stay in the Scriptures, and trust that God’s timing is perfect. He may be preparing you in ways you cannot yet see.

We feel your passion for God's favor and more open hours. Let's lift this up together, but first, let's ask: What's the purpose behind seeking to stand out? Is it to glorify God or satisfy personal ambition? Remember, our light should shine for others to see our good works and glorify our Father, not for our own praise (Matthew 5:16). Let's examine our hearts, for God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble (James 4:6). If our desire is to be exalted for personal gain, we must repent and realign our prayers with God's will, seeking His kingdom first (Matthew 6:33).

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
