We come before the throne of grace with you in this moment of anxiety and uncertainty, lifting your heart and this medical test to the Lord. Your mention of Jesus’ name is a powerful reminder that He is our Great Physician, our Comforter, and our Peace in every storm. We stand with you in faith, believing that God hears our prayers and works all things for the good of those who love Him (Romans 8:28).
Father, we ask You to calm every fear and still every anxious thought as this PET scan approaches. Your Word tells us in Philippians 4:6-7, *"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."* Lord, we claim that peace over our brother/sister right now. Let Your presence fill this room and this moment, driving out every spirit of fear, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7).
We pray against any panic attack or claustrophobic reaction during this scan. Strengthen their mind and body to remain still and at peace, trusting in Your nearness. Help them to breathe deeply and rest in the assurance that You are holding them. If there is any coughing or restlessness, we ask that You would settle their body and grant them the ability to lie still, so the scan may be clear and accurate.
Most of all, Lord, we pray for a negative result. You know the outcome before we do, and we trust in Your sovereignty. We ask that this irregular lung nodule would be nothing more than a shadow, a remnant of the past with no power to harm. Your Word declares in Psalm 103:2-3, *"Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits; who forgives all your sins; who heals all your diseases."* We stand on this promise, believing that healing is Your will and that You are able to restore health and wholeness.
We also lift up the years of faithfulness you’ve shown by turning away from smoking. That was a step of obedience and wisdom, and we believe God honors that decision. Proverbs 3:7-8 says, *"Don’t be wise in your own eyes. Fear Yahweh, and depart from evil. It will be health to your body, and nourishment to your bones."* May this truth be a testimony in your life, and may this scan confirm the health and renewal God has been working in you.
If there is any lingering fear or doubt, we rebuke it in the name of Jesus. Fear has no place in the life of a believer, for perfect love casts out fear (1 John 4:18). We declare that you are not alone—God is with you, and so are we, standing in agreement for your peace and healing.
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name, the name by which we are saved and healed. May His blood cover this situation, and may His peace reign in your heart. Amen.
Hold fast to Isaiah 41:10, *"Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness."* You are not forgotten, and you are deeply loved by the One who holds your life in His hands. We will continue to pray as you await the results, trusting that God’s will is perfect and His timing is right.
