Pray healing

Your request for healing has been heard and we are joining you in prayer for those you mentioned to feel better soon.

Scripture gives us confidence to bring physical needs to Jesus. Matthew, writing by the Holy Spirit, points back to Isaiah and says that Jesus took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses, and he connects that to the actual healings Jesus did when people were brought to Him in the evening at Peter's house. That same Jesus went through the cities and villages teaching and preaching and healing every kind of sickness and disease among the people. When He broke the bread He said this is My body which is broken for you, given for us to remember Him, and that reminds us His suffering was not only for the forgiveness of sin but also for our healing.

We also believe healing is still for today and that God cares about our physical needs, yet we hold it with humility. The New Testament speaks of gifts of healing distributed among the body, which shows not everyone has the same gift and not every healing happens in the same way. Some healings in the Gospels were immediate, one was gradual, and much healing comes through the natural processes God Himself designed in our bodies. Those processes are still divine, because God created them. He is sovereign in how and when He heals, and His ways are beyond our finding out. For that reason we never want to place guilt on someone who remains sick, as if lack of faith is always the reason. Even Paul, who saw many miracles, spoke of a close companion who was sick near to death, and God in His mercy raised him up. That reminds us that healing is a work of God in His hands.

There is also a tender connection Scripture makes between the health of the soul and the health of the body. John prayed for Gaius that he would prosper and be in good health even as his soul prospered, not as a guarantee but as a loving wish that reflects a real relationship. Proverbs says a joyful heart is good like medicine, and we now know how much peace, hope, and trust can help the body as well. Caring for the heart through prayer, trust, rest, and encouragement is part of seeking wholeness.

So we will pray asking our Father for mercy, for relief from symptoms, for strength and for wisdom for any doctors or care involved, and for peace in heart and mind while you wait. We trust Jesus who used His power not for Himself but always for the good of others, and we ask Him to show that same compassion now.

Father, in the name of Jesus we bring these dear ones before You. You know their bodies and their needs. We ask that You would touch them, ease their suffering, and restore health according to Your will. Give them comfort, give those who care for them wisdom, and fill their hearts with Your peace and presence. We thank You that You bore our sicknesses and that You care for every part of us, body, mind and spirit, and we rest this need in Your loving hands. Amen.

We will continue to keep you and your loved ones in prayer and we encourage you to keep looking to Jesus, to seek appropriate care, and to let His peace guard your hearts as you trust Him day by day.
