We understand how strong feelings can be when you really like someone and find yourself waiting and hoping for a text from him, and we join with you in bringing this desire before the Lord.
We want to encourage you to guard your heart and to place this situation fully in God's hands rather than letting anxiety or longing take over. Scripture tells us In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7 We also are reminded to Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6 and to Delight yourself also in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Psalm 37:4 When we seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Matthew 6:33 God cares about your longing for companionship, but His will for you is far greater than a single text message. If this man is the one God has for you, we pray it would move toward godly courtship with the goal of marriage, not simply dating or emotional attachment.
We also want to gently encourage you to consider what kind of relationship God desires for you. We believe marriage is a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman designed by God, and any courtship should be between two believers in Christ with marriage as the goal. Scripture says Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship do righteousness and iniquity have. Or what fellowship does light have with darkness. 2 Corinthians 6:14 So we encourage you to ask whether this young man loves the Lord and is seeking to honor Him. We also encourage you to keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it is the wellspring of life. Proverbs 4:23 and to commit to purity, for sex before or outside of marriage is fornication and not God’s design for those who are not yet married. Waiting for a text can easily become an idol that steals your peace, so we encourage you to find your worth and contentment in Christ first, trusting that if this relationship is from the Lord it will develop in His perfect timing.

Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6 and There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12 It is because of what Jesus did on the cross and through His resurrection that we can bring any request to the Father and receive forgiveness and eternal life when we put our trust in Him.
We pray together for you now. Father in heaven, we lift this dear one to You in the name of Jesus and thank You that You know her heart and her desire for this young man. We ask that You would grant her Your peace that surpasses understanding as she waits, and help her to trust Your will above her own wishes. If this man is the godly husband You have prepared for her, a man who loves You and will lead a Christ centered marriage, we ask that You would open the door for godly communication and make Your will clear to both of them. If he is not Your best for her, we ask that You would guard her heart from disappointment, close the door gently, and lead her to the spouse You have chosen in Your timing. Help her to keep herself pure and to pursue courtship that honors You, and help her to seek You first above all else. Draw her closer to Jesus and assure her of Your love and Your perfect plan for her life. We ask all of this in the precious name of Jesus, amen.

Your request has been heard, and it speaks of a heart that is full of longing and waiting for a word from one you greatly like. It is right to bring even such tender and personal matters before the Lord, for He cares for all that concerns His children, yet I would gently lead your thoughts a little higher.
You speak of waiting for a text, and with that waiting there often comes anxiety. I have learned, both by my own experience and by observation of others, that anxiety has never comforted anybody, nor has it ever brought any grist to the mill. The very anxiety which arises through your being in a difficulty unfits you to meet that difficulty. To watch the phone and to be tossed by every hope and fear does not pay, and it will not hasten any good thing that God intends for you. There are also at times romantic notions which are not according to the realities of everyday life, and they can steal away the peace which belongs to a child of God.
What God intends to give us, He first sets us longing for, and prayer is the embodiment of a longing inspired of God because He intends to bestow the blessing. I would ask, what is the deepest longing of your soul in this hour? Job's longing was all absorbing and personal, he longed to personally find God. He did not sigh to comprehend the incomprehensible, but to come to God Himself. The Psalmist says, My soul breaks with longing for Your judgments, and again, I opened my mouth and panted, for I longed for Your commandments. Many rightly long after the promises, but we must also long after holiness, after obedience, after to be made like Christ. It is not Quixotical to seek holiness, for God can make us holy. If your whole soul is possessed by the earnest longing to find God and to be conformed to His will, that longing itself is a gift to be thankful for, for the Lord has heard the desire of the humble and will prepare the heart.
Therefore, while you wait, seek the patience of the Scriptures. You have heard of the patience of Job, the patience of a greatly tried man, imperfect and full of infirmity as we are, yet sustained by God. That patience was not the patience of one who cannot feel, but the patience of a child who believes in his Father's love, of a pilgrim who pushes onward though the way be long. As soon as we are saved we come under the discipline of Christ, and a part of that discipline lies in the exercise of patience. Feeding upon the Scriptures in meditation and prayer, you will find reproduced in you the patience which the Scriptures inculcate and exhibit.
So we will not pray as you worded it, that God would simply grant a text at your bidding, for that would make our will the master. Rather we will pray that the Lord would do what is best and most holy for you both. We have prayed that He would quiet your anxiety and give you peace in His providence, that He would turn your longing most of all toward Himself and toward holiness, that He would keep you in purity and wisdom, and that if this liking should grow into anything more, it would be guided toward that which God has ordained, a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman in marriage, where love is kept within the bounds the Lord has set for good. We have asked that He would guard your heart from seeking your worth in the reply of another, and teach you to find your fullness in Christ alone, and to trust His timing which is never late.
Rest in this, that the Lord deals with us in patience, though we are poor material for the potter's skill. He bears with us and goes on with His work of grace until He makes us vessels fit for His use. Cast this care upon Him, and let your chief panting be for His commandments and His presence, and you shall find that He will cause your ear to hear in His own perfect way.
