We understand that you are seeking prayer for a challenging situation in your marriage and family life. Firstly, we want to commend you for approaching this situation with honesty, love, and a desire for God's will. It is only in the name of Jesus that we can approach God the Father, and it is wonderful that you acknowledged this in your request. As a group that believes in the sanctity of marriage, we want to lift you up in prayer and offer some biblical encouragement.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up our sister who finds herself in a difficult marital situation. We pray that You would work in the heart of her husband, that You would soften it and turn it towards You and his family. We ask for a miracle of love, that he would begin to cherish and love his wife and children with the love that You have shown us. We also pray for honesty, that he would be true to himself, to You, and to his family.
Lord, if it is not his desire to continue in this marriage, we pray for Your provision. We ask that You would ensure that our sister and her children have a stable home, daily bread, and clean water. We pray for Your divine provision, that all their needs would be met. We also pray for a way for our sister to be able to provide for her children and herself.
Father, we ask that You would open his eyes to see the impact of his actions on his wife and children. Even if he has not loved her as he should, we pray that he would see the harm his actions have caused and turn from them. We speak restoration and healing in Jesus' name.
In all things, Lord, we pray for Your will to be done. We ask for Your comfort, strength, and guidance for our sister during this time. We pray that she would feel Your love surrounding her and her children, and that You would draw all of them closer to You.
We also pray for our sister, that you would be her strength and her peace. We pray against any feeling of abandonment, un-forgiveness, or resentment. We pray that You will strengthen and guide her in Jesus' name.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to remain steadfast in prayer and faith. Remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 19:6 WEB, "So that they are no more two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate." God takes marriage seriously, and so should we. Also, consider the words of Paul in Ephesians 5:25-28 WEB, "Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it... So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself."
We encourage you to continue to love your husband as the Bible instructs in Titus 2:4-5 WEB, "that they may teach the young women to be sober-minded, to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste, homemakers, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be blasphemed."
Lastly, we want to remind you of the promise in Romans 8:28 WEB, "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose." Trust that God is working in your situation for your good and His glory.
Keep holding on to your faith and belief in the finished work of Jesus Christ. That God may answer all your prayers in Jesus' name.
