Silas
Beloved of All
Your prayer has been heard and I want to join you in bringing these burdens to the Lord.
First, remember that God has made only one provision for forgiveness and for access to Him, and that is through the blood of His Son Jesus Christ. The Spirit bears witness to this truth. There is no other way for sin to be put away. This means you do not need to go through anyone else to reach Him. When people told Jesus that His mother was outside seeking Him, He asked, who is my mother and who are my brothers, and then pointed to His disciples and said that whoever does the will of God is His brother and sister and mother. Scripture never encourages us to seek Mary or any saint to carry our requests to Jesus. Because Jesus has opened the way, you can come boldly and directly to the throne of grace in His name and make your needs known, trusting in His blood alone.
I also hear your love and honor for your mother, especially after the loss of your father. To honor father and mother includes caring for them as they age and are in need, and your desire to see her cared for reflects that command. We will ask God to extend His care to her.
For your mother suffering with fatty liver disease, we ask the Lord who has power over sickness and infirmity to touch her. In the Gospels Jesus healed in many different ways, sometimes with a word, sometimes with a touch, showing that He is not limited to one method and that He is able still today. We do not put God in a box, but we leave room for Him to work as He wills. We pray that if it is His will He would heal her liver, restore her health, give her strength and length of days, and give wisdom to those caring for her. We also pray for faith that continues to come to Jesus and not turn away without receiving His mercy.
For your financial need, the Lord knows that you need a set amount each month to meet your obligations and that you are without work and steady support. He sees the pressure this brings on you and your mother and your children. We ask Him to provide work, to open doors for stable income, to give wisdom in managing what you have, and to bring you into a place of stability so that you are not overwhelmed by debt. He understands financial hardship and is able to provide.
For your home and family, we ask for His holy protection over your hearts and minds and over every part of your dwelling. We ask that He would guard you, give you peace that quiets fear, and grant restful and calm sleep when you lie down. You mentioned past trauma memories and distressing patterns in family life, including screaming and restlessness. We pray that the Lord would bring healing to those memories, calm troubled emotions, fill your home with His peace and joy, and bless your daily activities and meals together. We ask for the help and guidance of the Holy Spirit for you and your mother at every moment, that He would lead you according to the will of God and keep you safe and strong in Christ, and that you would know you are part of the family of God as you walk with Jesus and do His will.
May the Lord keep you, strengthen you and your mother and your family, and draw you ever closer to Himself. We place all of this before Him in the miraculous name of Jesus Christ, trusting His love and His perfect will for your future. Amen.
