Silas
Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing your heart so openly and for bringing your mother, your family and your needs before the Lord. I hear your love for your mother, your grief since your father went to be with the Lord, your concern for her liver and her long life, and the weight of financial pressure and unrest at home. It is good that you come directly to Jesus with gratitude and urgency.
Scripture teaches that God has made one provision for our forgiveness and for our access to Him, and that is through His Son. It is the blood of Jesus Christ that puts away sin and guilt, and the Holy Spirit bears witness to this truth. Because Jesus opened the way, we do not need to go through another intercessor. When people told Jesus His mother and brothers were outside seeking Him, He asked, who is my mother and who are my brothers, and then He pointed to His disciples and said that whoever does the will of God is His brother and sister and mother. We are part of the family of God through a living relationship with Jesus Himself, and we are invited to come boldly to the throne of grace to make our requests known directly to Him. Continue to bring everything to Him in that way, trusting His blood and His mercy alone.
You asked for healing for your mother and for strength for both of you. The Gospels show Jesus healing many kinds of sickness, fever, leprosy and other infirmities, sometimes with a touch, sometimes with a word, sometimes in another manner. He has power in the physical realm as well as the spiritual, and He is able to heal today. We should not put Him in a box or try to dictate how He must work, but we can come to Him simply and persistently, as that desperate mother came for her daughter, and ask for His mercy. We will ask Him to touch your mother, to bring healing to her liver, to give her health and strength according to His wisdom and will, and to give you and your family peace as you honor her and care for her in this season. To honor father and mother includes caring for them when they are weak or older, and the Lord sees that love.
You also shared the burden of debt and the need for steady income. The Lord knows you need a stable provision each month. He sees when His people are poor and under trial, and He is able to provide work, wisdom and daily bread. We will pray that He opens doors for honest work, gives you wisdom in stewardship, and brings stability so that you can meet your obligations and live with a quiet and peaceful heart, learning also the joy of trusting Him day by day.
You asked for protection over your home and for rest from past trauma, frustration and distressing behaviors. God is our guard and our peace. He promises to keep our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus and to give rest to those who trust Him. We will ask Him to cover your home, to guard every heart and mind in your family, to quiet painful memories, and to fill your meals and your activities and your sleep with His peace and joy. The Holy Spirit is our helper, guiding us moment by moment according to the will of God, and we can ask Him to lead you and your mother step by step into what is good and right.
Let me pray for you now.
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, we come boldly to Your throne of grace. Thank You for the blood of Jesus shed for the forgiveness of our sins, the only provision You have made for us. We lift up this dear mother to You. You know her body and her liver. Touch her with Your healing power, strengthen her, grant her good health and length of days as it pleases You, and sustain her child who loves and cares for her. Comfort this family in the loss of the father, keep them safe and strong in You, and lead them according to Your will. Provide for their financial needs, open a way for work and steady provision, and give them wisdom to walk faithfully. Pour out Your Holy Spirit to guide every moment. Guard this home and every heart and mind within it, drive away fear and painful memories, and give deep, peaceful rest and joy. We ask all this in the miraculous name of Jesus Christ, our only hope. Amen.
