We join with you in this desire which is so pleasing to God, to set your mind on things that are above and not on things that are on the earth as Colossians 3:2 calls us to do. We rejoice that the Holy Spirit has placed this hunger in your heart, for it shows you are longing to live with an eternal perspective rather than being consumed by the temporary distractions and worries of this world.
Scripture teaches us in Colossians 3:1-2, If then you were raised together with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated on the right hand of God. Set your mind on the things that are above, not on the things that are on the earth. To set our mind above is to fix our thoughts, affections and hopes on Christ Himself, on His Kingdom and on His righteousness. We are also reminded in Romans 12:2, Don't be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God. And in Philippians 4:8 we are instructed, Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think about these things. When we seek first God's Kingdom as Matthew 6:33 teaches, But seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well, we find that earthly anxieties lose their grip.
We want to encourage you practically to cultivate this heavenly mindedness each day by dwelling in the Word of God, by spending time in prayer and communion with the Father, by worship, and by fellowship with other believers who will help keep your heart centered on Christ. The things of earth will always clamor for our attention, but as 2 Corinthians 4:18 reminds us, we don't look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.
We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we gently want to remind you that it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and can come boldly before His throne. As Jesus said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And as Acts 4:12 declares, There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If you have not yet placed your trust in Jesus, we encourage you to believe in your heart that He died for your sins and rose again, and to confess Him as Lord, for Romans 10:9 says, that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. It is in His name alone that our prayers are heard.

Father, we come before You in the precious name of Jesus Christ, thanking You for this dear one who desires to set their mind on things above. We ask You to renew their mind daily by Your Holy Spirit and Your Word. Help them to turn away from earthly distractions, anxieties and temptations, and to fix their eyes on Christ where He is seated at Your right hand. Fill their thoughts with what is true, honorable, just, pure and lovely. Give them strength to seek Your Kingdom first and to trust You with all earthly needs. Draw them ever closer to Jesus, deepen their faith, and let them know the joy and peace that comes from an eternal perspective. May their life bear witness to Your goodness and may their mind be continually transformed to know Your good and perfect will. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, Amen.

Perhaps a few quiet minutes in the morning before the day gets noisy to be with the Lord in prayer and in His Word, and then a brief pause midday to turn your attention back to Him. Your prayer is a wise and scriptural one, and we join our hearts with yours before the throne of grace concerning it. To set the mind on things above is not a work which flesh can perform, for whatever strength is our own will one day fail us, whether it be of body, mind, or spirit. It is a heavenly strength which must be transfused into us, and that strength cometh only from above by the Holy Spirit.
We pray that the Lord will renew your strength as you wait upon Him, that you may undertake fresh work and do it to a nobler tune, with more expectancy, more confidence, more faith and more God reliance. Here we are wearied with toil and soon distracted by earthly cares, but there remains a rest for the people of God, an eternal rest where the mind shall be enlarged and fixed forever upon Christ. The apostle would have us taste that rest even now, by having our affections loosed from this fleeting world, for man calls his works eternal, but God calls them fleeting, and they are but air.
Eternal life, as the Scripture teaches, commences here in the believer as soon as he is born again, and it consists in knowing God and Jesus Christ whom He has sent. To know Him experimentally, to love what He loves and to delight in the topics which engage the Eternal Mind, this is to live upon heavenly principles while still upon the earth. In order to attain proficiency in any science the mind must be abstracted from other thoughts and continually exercised with its chosen theme, and how much more must the heavenly mind be kept continually before us if we would be preeminent in godliness.
May the Lord grant you grace to look to the Lamb who sits upon the throne, for He is the chief object of attraction in the heavenly state, and to be much in prayer and in the Word, where the rustling of the holy wind is heard as the Spirit passes mysteriously along. Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty, and He will enable you to set your affection on things above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God, and not on things on the earth which perish with the using.
We pray that God will keep your mind stayed upon Christ, that you may find your thoughts drawn upward day by day, and that you may know more and more the life which is without end, to the praise of His grace.

We join you in prayer for this desire to set your mind on things above, as you have asked according to Colossians 3:2. It is a good and faithful prayer, for Scripture itself divides things earthly from heavenly and calls us to seek the fruit that is gathered unto eternal life, not the harvest that profits only for a time.
We pray that God will help you to lift your thoughts from what is temporary and earthly to what is lasting and heavenly. Though we live here on earth, our citizenship is in heaven, and the spiritual blessings we have in Christ are heavenly even while we walk here. We ask the Father to fix your heart on Christ who sits at His right hand, to give you hunger for His Word, stillness to hear His Spirit, and strength to turn away from earthly distractions that fade.
May the Lord teach you to bear the image of the heavenly in your daily life, not only in knowledge but in practice, doing those things that belong to heaven, and may He fill you with peace as your mind is stayed on Him.
