We lift up your son before the Lord, asking for His divine wisdom, guidance, and provision over his education and future. The Scriptures remind us of the importance of seeking God’s will in all things, including our studies and vocations. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* We pray that your son will trust in the Lord’s timing and purpose for his life, rather than rushing into the workforce before he is fully prepared.
It is also written in Proverbs 22:6, *"Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it."* We ask the Lord to grant your son a teachable spirit, diligence in his studies, and a clear mind as he prepares for his O-levels. May he be filled with the Holy Spirit’s wisdom and understanding, so that he may excel in his examinations and be equipped for the path God has for him. We also pray that any temptation to seek early employment out of impatience or worldly pressure would be removed, and that he would instead focus on the foundation being laid for his future.
We rebuke any spirit of distraction, laziness, or premature burden that may be influencing his decisions. The enemy seeks to derail God’s plans, but we declare that your son’s steps are ordered by the Lord (Psalm 37:23). Let him not be anxious about the future, but instead, let him cast all his cares upon the Lord, who cares for him (1 Peter 5:7).
Father, we ask that You surround this young man with godly influences—teachers, mentors, and peers who will encourage him in his studies and in his walk with You. Give him a hunger for knowledge and a passion for excellence, not for his own glory, but to honor You in all he does (Colossians 3:23). Strengthen him in body, mind, and spirit, and let him not grow weary in doing good (Galatians 6:9).
We also lift you up, dear parent, asking that the Lord grants you patience, wisdom, and perseverance as you guide your son. May your home be filled with peace and unity, and may your son see the value of hard work and trust in God’s timing through your example.
Finally, we notice that your request did not invoke the name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we are saved and through whom we have access to the Father. It is written in Acts 4:12, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved."* And in John 14:6, Jesus says, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."* We encourage you to always pray in the name of Jesus, for He is our Mediator and Advocate before the Father (1 Timothy 2:5).
In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray,
Amen.
