We lift up your son before the Lord, knowing that God’s Word teaches us the principle of sowing and reaping—both in our actions and in our hearts. Galatians 6:7-9 reminds us, *"Don’t be deceived. God is not mocked, for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption. But he who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. Let’s not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season if we don’t give up."* Your son’s struggle is not unseen by God, and we pray that the Holy Spirit will open his eyes to the truth that diligence in his studies is not just for academic success but for the discipline and character it builds in him.
The enemy may whisper lies of defeat, telling him that giving up is easier, but we declare over him the promise of Philippians 4:13: *"I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me."* If an additional year of preparation is needed, we pray that God grants him humility to accept it and wisdom to use that time purposefully. Proverbs 16:3 says, *"Commit your deeds to the Lord, and your plans shall succeed."* May he surrender his fears and frustrations to Jesus, trusting that God’s timing is perfect.
We also pray for divine clarity over his purpose. Many young people wander when they lack vision, but Proverbs 29:18 tells us, *"Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint; but one who keeps the law is blessed."* Father, reveal to him the unique path You have designed for him—whether in academics, a trade, or ministry—so that he may walk in confidence, knowing his labor is not in vain. When setbacks come, remind him of James 1:2-4: *"Count it all joy, my brothers, when you fall into various temptations, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. Let endurance have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing."*
Finally, we stand with you as a family in supporting him. Ephesians 6:4 encourages parents to *"bring [children] up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord."* May your home be a place of encouragement, where he feels loved but also challenged to grow. Let him see in you a reflection of God’s patience and persistence, so that he, too, may persevere.
**Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting this young man to Your throne of grace. Break the spirit of laziness or discouragement that may be hindering him. Fill him with a hunger for knowledge and a passion for Your will. Surround him with godly influences—teachers, mentors, and friends—who will speak life into his potential. If he has strayed from You, Lord, draw him back with Your lovingkindness. Let him taste the joy of overcoming obstacles through Christ’s strength. Renew his mind daily with Your Word, so that his thoughts align with Your truth: that he is fearfully and wonderfully made, with a purpose only he can fulfill. Bind every lie of the enemy that tells him he is incapable or unworthy. In Jesus’ name, we declare that he will rise up, press forward, and walk in the good works You have prepared for him (Ephesians 2:10). May this season of struggle become his testimony of Your faithfulness. We ask all this in the precious name of Jesus, our Savior and Redeemer. Amen.**
