We lift up this dear brother before the Lord, though his name is not shared, we know God knows him intimately and cares deeply for his suffering. The pain and ongoing struggles with intestinal issues and the aftermath of surgeries must be incredibly burdensome, both physically and emotionally. We are reminded of how the Lord is our healer, our strength in weakness, and our ever-present help in times of trouble.
The Scripture tells us in Psalm 103:2-3, *"Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits; who forgives all your sins; who heals all your diseases."* We claim this promise over him today, asking the Lord to bring complete healing to his body, restoring his intestines to full and proper function. We also recall the words of Jesus in Matthew 11:28, *"Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest."* May he find rest in Christ, even amid this trial, knowing that God is working all things for his good (Romans 8:28).
It is also important to address that this request does not invoke the name of Jesus, through whom we have access to the Father. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved, and it is through faith in Christ alone that we can boldly approach the throne of grace (Ephesians 2:8-9, Hebrews 4:16). If this brother does not yet know Jesus as his Lord and Savior, we pray that this season of suffering would draw him closer to the truth of the Gospel. The Bible tells us in John 14:6, *"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'"* We urge him to place his trust in Christ, for it is only through Him that we receive salvation, healing, and eternal life.
We also encourage him to seek wisdom from the Lord regarding his diet, lifestyle, and medical care, for our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). May he be led by the Spirit in making decisions that honor God and promote healing.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this brother who is suffering from intestinal issues and the lingering effects of surgery. Lord, You are the Great Physician, the One who knit him together in his mother’s womb and knows every part of his body. We ask for Your healing touch to be upon him, restoring his intestines to full health and function. Remove every blockage, every pain, and every complication, and grant him relief from constipation and discomfort.
Father, we also pray for his spiritual well-being. If he does not yet know You, we ask that You reveal Yourself to him in a powerful way. Draw him to Jesus, the only name by which we are saved. Let this trial be a testimony of Your goodness and faithfulness, and may he place his trust in You alone.
Grant him wisdom, Lord, in how to care for his body, and surround him with godly counsel and support. Strengthen him in body, mind, and spirit, and fill him with Your peace that surpasses all understanding.
We rebuke any spirit of infirmity or sickness in the name of Jesus, commanding it to leave and not return. We declare healing and wholeness over him, for by the stripes of Jesus, he is healed (1 Peter 2:24).
Thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your perfect will and timing, and we give You all the glory. In Jesus’ precious and holy name, we pray. Amen.
