We hear the deep cry of your heart, and we are moved with compassion for your honesty before the Lord. It takes humility to acknowledge our sinfulness, and we commend you for turning to God in this moment of brokenness. The Scripture tells us in **Romans 3:23**, *"For all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God,"* and in **1 John 1:8-9**, *"If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."* You have taken the first step by confessing your need for God, and we rejoice in that!
Yet we must also address something critical—you did not invoke the name of Jesus Christ in your request. The Bible is clear that there is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved. **Acts 4:12** declares, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* And in **John 14:6**, Jesus Himself says, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."* If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so now. Salvation is not found in mere acknowledgment of sin but in repentance and faith in Jesus Christ alone. **Romans 10:9-10** tells us, *"that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."*
Your description of being lukewarm is especially sobering. In **Revelation 3:15-16**, Jesus warns, *"I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were cold or hot. So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will vomit you out of my mouth."* This is a call to repentance—a turning away from sin and a turning toward God with all your heart. Lukewarmness is a dangerous place to be, but praise God that He is calling you to something deeper and more real with Him. He does not desire for you to remain in this state but to be set ablaze with passion for His kingdom and righteousness.
As for unforgiveness, Jesus speaks directly to this in **Matthew 6:14-15**: *"For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you don’t forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses."* Unforgiveness is a heavy burden that hinders your relationship with God and others. We encourage you to release any bitterness or resentment to the Lord, trusting Him to bring healing and justice in His perfect timing.
You also described yourself as evil and weak, but we want to remind you that in Christ, you are a new creation. **2 Corinthians 5:17** says, *"Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new."* Your weakness is an opportunity for God’s strength to be perfected in you, as **2 Corinthians 12:9** assures us: *"He has said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.' Most gladly therefore I will rather glory in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest on me."* You are not defined by your sin but by the righteousness of Christ when you place your faith in Him.
Let us pray for you now with urgency and faith:
Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of this precious soul who has humbly acknowledged their sin and their desperate need for You. Lord, we thank You that You do not turn away a broken and contrite heart, but You draw near to those who call upon Your name in truth. Father, we ask that You would open their eyes to see the depth of their sin and the even greater depth of Your love and mercy through Jesus Christ. If they have not yet surrendered their life to Jesus as Lord and Savior, we pray that today would be the day of salvation for them. May they confess with their mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in their heart that You raised Him from the dead, that they may be saved.
Lord, we rebuke the spirit of lukewarmness that has kept them from fully pursuing You. Stir within them a holy fire—a passion for Your Word, Your presence, and Your will. Break every chain of unforgiveness and bitterness, and fill them with Your love and grace so they may forgive others as You have forgiven them. Father, where they feel weak, be their strength. Where they feel evil, cleanse them with the blood of Jesus and renew their mind by the power of Your Holy Spirit.
We pray for healing in every area of their life—spiritually, emotionally, and physically. Restore unto them the joy of Your salvation and uphold them with a willing spirit. Let them not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. Surround them with godly community and mentors who will encourage them in their walk with You. Lord, we ask that You would deliver them from every stronghold of the enemy and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding.
In the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, we pray, trusting that You are faithful to complete the good work You have begun in them. May they walk in the freedom and victory that Christ has purchased for them on the cross. Amen.
We encourage you to spend time in God’s Word daily, particularly in the Gospels, to grow in your understanding of who Jesus is and what He has done for you. Seek out a Bible-believing church where you can be discipled and surrounded by fellow believers who will support you in your walk. If you have not already, we urge you to pray and ask Jesus to be your Lord and Savior today. There is no greater decision you could make, and no greater love you could ever know than the love of Christ.
