Lukewarmness, idolatry, unsaved

We hear the cry of your heart, and we are deeply moved by your honesty before the Lord. It takes great courage to acknowledge the state of your soul, and we rejoice that you have turned to Jesus in this moment of need. The fact that you are reaching out for prayer in His name is evidence that the Holy Spirit is already at work in you, drawing you to repentance and salvation. Let us remind you of the words of Scripture that speak directly to your situation, for God’s Word is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and is able to discern the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

First, we must address the urgency of your unsaved condition, for this is the most critical matter. The Bible declares in **Acts 4:12**, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* You have invoked the name of Jesus in your request, and this is the only name by which anyone can be saved. If you have not yet surrendered your life to Christ as your Lord and Savior, we implore you to do so now. **Romans 10:9-10** tells us, *"that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."* Salvation is not found in feelings or religious acts, but in a personal, repentant faith in Jesus Christ alone. If you have never done this, we urge you to pray right now, confessing your sins and placing your trust in Him. There is no sin too great that His blood cannot wash away, and no heart too hard that He cannot soften.

You describe yourself as lukewarm, and we must warn you of the danger of this state. In **Revelation 3:15-16**, Jesus speaks to the church in Laodicea, saying, *"I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were cold or hot. So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will vomit you out of my mouth."* Lukewarmness is a spiritual condition where one professes faith but lives in complacency, blending in with the world rather than being set apart for God. It is a state of spiritual apathy, where sin is tolerated, and devotion to Christ is half-hearted. But take heart, for Jesus does not leave us in this state. He continues in **Revelation 3:19**, *"As many as I love, I reprove and chasten. Be zealous therefore, and repent."* His rebuke is an act of love, calling you to turn from this dangerous place and return to a passionate, wholehearted pursuit of Him.

You also mention idolatry, and this is a serious sin that the Lord detests. Idolatry is not just the worship of statues or false gods; it is anything that takes the place of God in your heart—whether it be money, relationships, entertainment, success, or even your own desires. **1 John 5:21** commands, *"Little children, keep yourselves from idols."* And in **Exodus 20:3-5**, the first of the Ten Commandments declares, *"You shall have no other gods before me. You shall not make for yourselves an idol, nor any image of anything that is in the heavens above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: you shall not bow yourself down to them, nor serve them."* Idolatry is spiritual adultery, and it separates us from the love of God. We urge you to examine your heart: what are you prioritizing above Jesus? What are you trusting in more than Him? Repent of these things, for He alone is worthy of your worship and devotion.

Your acknowledgment of being unforgiving is also something we must address, for unforgiveness is a poison that destroys the soul. Jesus teaches in **Matthew 6:14-15**, *"For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you don’t forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses."* Unforgiveness is a sin that binds you to bitterness and prevents you from experiencing the fullness of God’s grace in your own life. It is not optional for the believer; it is a command. **Ephesians 4:31-32** says, *"Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you."* If there are those you need to forgive, release them to God now. Forgiveness does not mean what they did was right; it means you are trusting God to be the just Judge and choosing to walk in freedom.

Lastly, you describe being in a "deeply bad spot." We do not know the specifics of your circumstances, but we know that God is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. **Psalm 46:1-3** reminds us, *"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we won’t be afraid, though the earth changes, though the mountains are shaken into the heart of the seas; though its waters roar and are troubled, though the mountains tremble with their swelling."* No matter how dark your situation may seem, Jesus is the light that shatters the darkness. **John 8:12** says, *"Again, therefore, Jesus spoke to them, saying, 'I am the light of the world. He who follows me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the light of life.'"*

Now, let us pray for you with hearts full of faith, trusting that the Lord who began a good work in you will complete it.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this precious soul who has humbly cried out for Your help. Lord, we thank You that You are near to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit. You have heard the confession of lukewarmness, idolatry, and unforgiveness, and we ask that You would grant a spirit of repentance that leads to life. Father, if this one has not yet surrendered their life to Christ, we pray that today would be the day of salvation. Open their eyes to see the gravity of their sin and the beauty of the Savior. Let them turn from their wicked ways and place their full trust in Jesus Christ alone for forgiveness and eternal life. May they confess with their mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in their heart that You raised Him from the dead, that they may be saved.

Lord, we rebuke the spirit of lukewarmness that has taken hold. Stir a holy fire within this heart, a passion for Your Word, Your presence, and Your will. Let them no longer be conformed to this world but transformed by the renewing of their mind. Break every chain of idolatry, Lord. Reveal the things that have become idols in their life—whether it be sinful desires, worldly pleasures, or misplaced affections—and grant them the strength to tear them down. Let Jesus Christ alone be their Lord, their treasure, and their greatest love.

Father, we ask for a supernatural release of forgiveness. If there are those who have wronged them, give them the grace to forgive as You have forgiven them. Heal the wounds of bitterness and fill them with Your love, which covers a multitude of sins. Let them walk in the freedom that comes from extending mercy, just as You have shown mercy to them.

Lord, we pray for deliverance from the "deeply bad spot" they find themselves in. You are the God who makes a way where there is no way. Provide for their needs, protect them from harm, and surround them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. If they are in bondage to sin, break those chains by the power of Your Spirit. If they are oppressed by the enemy, let Your light expose every scheme of darkness and set them free.

Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, Lord. Let them experience the joy of Your salvation and the assurance that they are Your child. Restore to them the joy of Your salvation, and uphold them with a willing spirit. Give them a hunger for Your Word and a thirst for righteousness. Raise up godly believers around them to encourage, disciple, and pray for them.

We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment shall be condemned. You, Lord, are their shield and their exceedingly great reward. We ask all these things in the precious and mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.

We encourage you to take immediate steps of obedience in response to this prayer. If you have not yet surrendered your life to Christ, do so now. Confess your sins to Him, ask for His forgiveness, and invite Him to be the Lord of your life. If you have already done this but have been living in lukewarmness, repent and ask the Holy Spirit to fill you afresh. Begin reading the Bible daily, starting with the Gospel of John, to grow in your knowledge of who Jesus is. Seek out a Bible-believing church where you can be discipled and held accountable. Cut off any sinful practices or relationships that are drawing you away from God. Remember, **1 John 1:9** promises, *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."*

You are not beyond the reach of God’s grace. His mercy is new every morning, and His love for you is everlasting. Turn to Him with all your heart, and He will meet you where you are. We are standing with you in prayer, believing that God is going to do a mighty work in your life. Keep seeking Him, and do not give up. The enemy wants to keep you in bondage, but Jesus came to set the captives free. Walk in that freedom today!

We're here for you, dear friend. We've felt the weight of your words and we want you to know that we're lifting you up in prayer. It's courageous of you to acknowledge your struggles and reach out for help. That's the first step towards healing and freedom.

First, let's cling to the promise in Romans 8:1, "There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus." No matter how deep the pit, Jesus is bigger. He's not shocked or turned off by your sin; instead, He's moved with compassion, just as He was when He saw the multitudes who were "harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd" (Matthew 9:36).

We're praying for you, that you would experience the radical love and forgiveness of Jesus. We're asking Him to fill you with His Holy Spirit, to give you a hunger for His Word, and to surround you with godly believers who will encourage and disciple you.

Remember, it's okay to not be okay. It's okay to have doubts, to struggle, to feel far from God. What's not okay is to stay there. Keep taking steps towards Him, no matter how small. He's waiting with open arms, ready to welcome you back home.

Let's keep praying together, okay? We're in this with you.

I prayed that God in Jesus' name will answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God Loves You. Thank You Jesus!!!

When we think of idolatry, we may think of groups worshipping a false god, but in the form of an image. Even the Catholics praying to Mary. However, I would think there are other ways someone can be guilty of it. Like anything that is focused on at the exclusion of God. Like of the people I...
