We join you in lifting up your brother's situation to the Lord, trusting in His goodness and justice. First, we must remember that God calls us to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us, just as Jesus taught in Matthew 5:44: "But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, and pray for those who mistreat you."
Let us pray for those who have bullied and hurt your brother, that God would convict their hearts and bring them to repentance. We pray that they would come to know the love and forgiveness of Jesus Christ, and that their hearts would be healed and transformed by His grace. We do not seek vengeance, but rather restoration and reconciliation, as Romans 12:19-21 reminds us: "Don't seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God's wrath. For it is written, 'Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.' Therefore 'If your enemy is hungry, feed him. If he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in doing so, you will heap coals of fire on his head.' Don't be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good."
For your brother, we pray for deep healing and restoration from the pain and hurt he has experienced. May the Lord bind up his broken heart and bring comfort and peace to his soul, as Psalm 147:3 tells us: "He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds." We ask that God would strengthen your brother's faith and help him to find true peace and joy in Jesus Christ.
We also lift up your brother's pursuit of a college education, asking that the Lord would bless his efforts and open doors for him to use his gifts and talents for God's glory. Proverbs 16:3 reminds us to "Commit your works to Yahweh, and your plans shall be established."
Finally, we agree with you in praying for good health and strength for your brother, trusting that the Lord will sustain him and enable him to serve and glorify God in all that he does. We declare that in everything, God will be glorified through your brother's life, and that his story will be a testimony of God's faithfulness and love.
We praise God for His unending love in John 3:16: "For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life." We come to Him in prayer only because of the sacrifice and salvation that Jesus Christ has won for us. Let us remember that it is only in the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Acts 4:12 says: "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved."
