Do not let the tenderness of God’s mercy lead you to sloth. You cried out for deliverance from debt, and you asked for full-time labor; these are good and urgent things, but know that the time is short and the Master’s reckoning is near. The debtor who was forgiven much went out straightway and abused the gift. Do not let that be your story. The one who will not work, let him not eat. Shake off every sleep, for the night is far spent, and your salvation is nearer than when you first believed. Rouse yourself as an athlete who trains even with a sack of sand when no opponent is present. Beat your body into subjection through earnest, honest toil, and let your hands be diligent as unto the Lord, for the prize is not a corruptible crown.

That you weep for your nephew proves you are no stranger to the fire of holy affection. I know that grief: I burn more intensely than a mother bereaved over my own children when they wander. Yet do not let your sorrow be passive. Let it drive you to relentless prayer and to the pursuit of that lost lamb. Set before him the sweet and artless humility you see in a little child. As our Lord set a child in the midst of the disciples to shame their ambition, so let your own blamelessness and simplicity be a silent reproof that draws him back from the precipice.

And as for your brother, and those souls you have named with a burdened heart, listen carefully. We are commanded to build one another up in the fear of God, not to soothe the flesh. The tutor is rebuked in private for harshness, but to the pupil the command is clear: though you be reproached unjustly, bear it. Lay no expectation before God that He should bless any union which His own Word does not seal as a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman. To pray for their salvation, their chastity, and the turning of their hearts toward a holy life is the truest mercy you can show. Speak to them not of smooth things but of the purity of that Light which made the very apostles fall down in terror and adoration. That day which burns as a furnace approaches; He will appear the second time without sin unto salvation for those who look for Him. Let your works be your plea and your intercession their shield, pointing them not toward a compromise with darkness, but toward the unspeakable grace that empowers us to walk in the light.

Your requests for work, relief from debt, a full-time job, your ### who has run away, and your ###’s relationships are all heavy on your heart, and I will bring them before the Lord with you.

When I think about the need for steady work and a salary, I remember that Scripture never treats ordinary labor as something small. There were those in Israel who became especially skilled in making plows and other implements, and that skill became the means by which they provided for their own households. God sees your diligence, and He knows the weight of the debt you are carrying. In His timing, He can open a door for full-time employment. While you wait, ask Him to give you eyes to see whatever honorable work He places in front of you, even if it feels small. David was simply watching his father’s sheep when a lion and a bear came, and the same shepherding that seemed routine became the training ground for what God would later do through him. Do not despise the small tasks or the waiting season, for the Lord’s eyes are on your ways, and He ponders all your goings.

About your ###, that is a deep grief. There is a God-given bond in a family, a kind of honor and concern that makes us pursue a loved one who is in danger. Under the old covenant, a family member was called to act as an avenger of blood, not out of hatred, but out of a solemn duty to protect the family. That same fierce love, turned toward mercy, should move us to pray relentlessly for those who have strayed. Just as a shepherd would chase down a lamb dragged off by a wild beast, so we can cry out to the Good Shepherd to pursue your ###, protect him from harm, and draw him back home. Do not stop praying; nothing is too hard for the Lord.

For your ### and his relationships, I will pray that he walks in wisdom and purity. The Scriptures honor the husband who rejoices with the wife of his youth, a love that is satisfied and ravished always with her alone. But there are also clear warnings about the flattering lips of a stranger who has forgotten the covenant made before God. I do not know all the details of his situation, but I will ask the Lord to guard your ### from crooked paths and to give him a heart that values righteousness over passing temptation. May his relationships be ones that honor God and bring true blessing rather than regret. Let his fountain be blessed, and may his springs not be dispersed to strangers.

Cast all these cares on the One who cares for you. He sustains families, provides for His children, and brings back the lost.

We are so grateful you trusted us with your prayer requests and allowed us to stand with you before the Lord. We have been lifting you up, asking God to open doors for steady, full-time work so that the weight of debt can be lifted from your shoulders. We continue to pray for provision, peace, and wisdom as you seek His will in your finances and career.

We have also been interceding for your nephew, asking the Lord to protect him, guide his steps, and draw him closer to Christ wherever he may be. And we have prayed for your brother’s relationships, that God would bring healing, restoration, and unity where it is needed most.

If any of these prayers have been answered—if a job has come through, if a financial breakthrough has arrived, if your nephew has taken steps toward the Lord, or if your brother’s situation has improved—we would love to rejoice with you! Please share a praise report so we can give God the glory together.

If, however, these burdens still weigh heavily on your heart, we encourage you to post them again as a new request. We are here to pray without ceasing, standing in faith alongside you until God’s answers come. May He strengthen you, provide for you, and draw near to you as you continue to seek Him through His Son, Jesus Christ. We pray this in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
