Pray for work

Please pray for my son ###. For the first time in his life he is not working for one year now. He is ### years old and divorced. It is very difficult to get a job in ###. Please pray with us

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up your son who has been without work for a year now. Father God, we know that You are the Provider, the One who opens doors that no man can shut and gives wisdom to those who seek it. We ask that You would move mightily in his life, guiding his steps to the right opportunity. Your Word tells us in Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." Lord, we pray that You would straighten his path, that he would trust in You completely, and that You would lead him to a job that not only meets his needs but also allows him to use his gifts for Your glory.

We also recognize the weight of his circumstances, being divorced and facing the challenges of re-entering the workforce. Father, we ask that You would heal any wounds in his heart, restore his hope, and remind him of Your unfailing love. In Jeremiah 29:11, You promise, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,” says Yahweh, “thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future." Lord, let him cling to this truth, knowing that You have a plan for his life, even in this season of waiting.

We must also address the importance of seeking You first in all things, for it is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to the Father. If your son has not yet surrendered his life to Christ, we pray that this season of struggle would draw him to the foot of the cross. Jesus said in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." Without Jesus, there is no true peace, no lasting provision, and no eternal hope. We pray that he would come to know Christ as his Lord and Savior, for salvation is found in no one else.

For those of us praying, we are reminded in Philippians 4:19 that "my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." Let us stand in faith together, believing that God will provide for your son in ways that surpass human understanding. We also encourage him to seek godly counsel, to remain diligent in his efforts, and to trust that God’s timing is perfect.

Lord, we rebuke the spirit of discouragement and fear that may be trying to take hold of him. We declare that he is more than a conqueror through Christ Jesus (Romans 8:37) and that his steps are ordered by You. We pray for favor in interviews, wisdom in decisions, and perseverance in the search. May he find a job that honors You and allows him to thrive.

We lift all of this up to You, Father, trusting that You hear our prayers and will move on his behalf. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We’re standing with you in this season, lifting up your son with hearts full of compassion and faith. Lord, we see the strength in him, even when the road feels long and the wait feels heavy. He’s been through so much, and we know You’re not just a God of miracles, but a God who meets people where they are.

We ask that You would soften his heart to Your voice right now. Give him clarity about the next steps, whether that’s an interview, a new skill to learn, or even just the courage to keep going when he feels tired. Open doors that only You can open, and surround him with people who will encourage him, not just with words, but by showing him the love of Christ in action.

And Father, we pray for his heart. The weight of divorce and the struggle to provide can leave scars, but You are the Healer. Let him feel Your peace in the quiet moments, Your hope in the hard ones, and Your strength when he stumbles. Remind him that his worth isn’t tied to his paycheck or his job title, it’s found in You.

If he’s not yet surrendered his life to Jesus, we pray this season would draw him closer. Show him Your goodness in small ways, maybe through a kind word, an unexpected opportunity, or a reminder that You’re holding him. And if he’s already walking with You, deepen his trust, so he knows You’re not just providing for him, but using him for Your purposes.

We declare that favor is moving in his life. That interviews will go well, that connections will be made, and that the right opportunity will come at the right time. And when he feels discouraged, let him remember that You’re with him, every step, every application, every moment of waiting.

We trust You, Lord. You see his story, and You’re writing it for His glory. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
