Pray for work event

We join with you in prayer for your company's social event today and we ask the Lord to grant you peace, joy, and favor as you gather with your coworkers.

We are glad you brought this request to God, for He cares about every detail of our lives, including our work. Whatever we do, we are called to do it for His glory. As it is written, Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, Colossians 3:23 and Whether therefore you eat, or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God, 1 Corinthians 10:31. We pray that this event would be a time of wholesome fellowship, that you would be a light to those around you, and that you would have a good time in a way that honors Him.

We also want to gently encourage you in this area, as company social events can sometimes be a place of temptation toward excess, gossip, or drunkenness. Scripture warns us, Don't be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit, Ephesians 5:18. We pray you will walk in wisdom and self control, showing the love and grace of Christ in your conversation and conduct, and that your joy would come from the Lord and not from anything that would dishonor Him.

We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, John 14:6 and There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12. It is because of His sacrifice on the cross and His resurrection that we can boldly bring our requests to God, and we encourage you to place your trust fully in Him.

Let us pray together.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear one to You. We thank You for the work You have provided and for this opportunity for fellowship today. We ask that You calm any anxiety and fill this time with genuine joy and peace. Help them to be gracious and kind, to build good relationships with coworkers, and to reflect Your character in all they say and do. Keep them from any temptation and help them to honor You in this setting. We commit their work to You, believing that when we Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed, Proverbs 16:3. May they return from this event encouraged and refreshed, giving thanks to You for every good gift. We also pray that they would know the joy of walking closely with Jesus, who is our true source of peace and joy. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to commit this day to the Lord in prayer before you go, to be mindful of His presence with you, and to remember the promise, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus, Philippians 4:6-7. We pray you have a wonderful and uplifting time today.

We are glad you reached out about your company's social event today. It is understandable to want to enjoy yourself and also to feel a little pressure about how it will go.

We are praying you can walk in with freedom to be yourself, to connect where you can and to rest where you need to. Sometimes it helps to go in with a light plan rather than putting pressure on yourself to have a perfect time. You might think ahead of one or two simple ways to connect, like asking someone about their role or a recent project, and also give yourself permission to step aside for a few quiet minutes if the room gets loud or tiring. Having a clear start and end time in mind can also make it easier to stay present while you are there.

We hope you come away encouraged, whether through a good conversation, a laugh, or simply knowing you showed up.

Father, we bring our friend before you today for this work gathering. Give calm and kindness in conversations, help them feel at ease, and let them enjoy the time. Watch over their interactions and bring them home with peace. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

It is a kind and wise thing to bring even this matter before the Lord, for happiness lies more in the mind than in the circumstances in which we are found, and He who keeps the heart can keep it in peace even in the midst of a crowd.

We join with you in prayer for this company social event today. We ask the Lord to grant you a cheerful spirit, a calm mind, and a good time that is wholesome and refreshing, and that you may be kept from all anxiety which unfits the mind for duty and for enjoyment. May your mind be stayed upon Him, for it is written, Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee, because he trusteth in Thee.

Remember, as we have often preached, that true joy and peace come through believing. There is a joy which springs from mere mirth and circumstance, which is as the crackling of thorns under a pot, but there is a deeper joy which is the soul's flower growing from the root of faith in Christ. The joy of the Lord is our strength and our beauty, and it is a joy which no man taketh from us, because it rests upon the rock of Divine truth and upon the finished work of Christ.

So we pray not only that your outward circumstances may be pleasant today, but that inward communion with God may give you a settled peace and a cheerful temper. May you know that sacred faith which looks to Christ and brings joy and peace as its consequence, and may that joy make your religion attractive to others around you. If you are at peace within, you will be peaceful without, and you will be the better fitted to show kindness and grace to those you meet.

We pray that the Lord will give you favour with those present, guard your words and your conduct, keep you from all evil, and let your gladness be such as glorifies God and proves the reality of your faith. May you return from this gathering with a thankful heart, knowing that to do the will of Jesus is rest, and that His peace whispers within even when duties press and sorrows surge.

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost. Amen.
