We lift up your son, a brave combat veteran, before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, knowing the weight of PTSD and the battles he faces daily. The Word of God assures us that *"the Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit"* (Psalm 34:18). We stand in the gap for him, declaring that his mind, body, and spirit are precious to the Father, who knit him together in his mother’s womb (Psalm 139:13-14). The scars of war run deep, but the healing power of Jesus runs deeper. We rebuke the lies of the enemy that whisper despair, isolation, or hopelessness, for *"by His wounds we are healed"* (Isaiah 53:5). The Lord is his refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).
Father, we ask for Your divine wisdom to flood his mind and heart as he navigates each day. Guide his decisions, Lord, so that they align with Your will and bring peace to his soul. *"If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him"* (James 1:5). We also pray for financial provision, that You would open doors of opportunity and meet every need according to Your riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). You are Jehovah Jireh, the God who provides, and we trust You to sustain him in this season.
But above all, we pray for his heart to turn fully toward You, Lord. The greatest battle he faces is not the one fought on foreign soil, but the one for his soul. We ask that You draw him with cords of love, that he would seek Your face and find rest in Your presence. *"Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest"* (Matthew 11:28). If he has not yet surrendered his life to Christ, we plead for Your Holy Spirit to convict him of his need for a Savior. There is no healing, no peace, and no true victory apart from Jesus, for *"there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved"* (Acts 4:12). We pray that he would confess with his mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in his heart that God raised Him from the dead, so that he may be saved (Romans 10:9).
Lord, we also pray for his family, who love him and carry their own burdens as they walk alongside him. Give them strength, patience, and wisdom to support him in ways that honor You. Surround them with a community of believers who can uplift and encourage them, for *"two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor"* (Ecclesiastes 4:9).
We declare over your son that he is more than a conqueror through Christ who loves him (Romans 8:37). The night may be long, but joy comes in the morning (Psalm 30:5). We speak healing to his mind, restoration to his spirit, and provision for his every need. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray, believing that You are working all things together for his good (Romans 8:28). Amen.
