We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this family and the struggles they are facing. Father, we know that You see every detail of their lives, and we ask that You move mightily on their behalf. First and foremost, we thank You for the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to Your throne of grace. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved, and we declare that salvation, healing, and restoration belong to this family in Jesus' name.
We pray for this husband, that You would soften his heart and draw him closer to You. Lord, we ask that You break the chains of coldness and hardness in his heart, replacing them with Your love, humility, and tenderness. Help him to see the value of his wife and child, and to cherish them as You cherish the Church. "Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself up for it; that he might sanctify it, having cleansed it by the washing of water with the word" (Ephesians 5:25-26). Father, we rebuke any spirit of pride or selfishness that may be hindering him from loving his family as Christ loves the Church. We also pray for his battle with alcohol and toxic habits. You have already begun a good work in him by helping him stop drinking, and we ask that You strengthen him to continue in sobriety. "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it" (1 Corinthians 10:13). Fill him with Your Holy Spirit, Lord, so that he may walk in self-control and wisdom.
We lift up this child to You, Father. Bless their studies and grant them favor in college. May they grow in wisdom, stature, and favor with God and man, just as Jesus did. "And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men" (Luke 2:52). Protect this child from harm and fill their heart with love and respect for their parents. May they be a source of joy and unity in this family.
Lord, we come against the interference of the in-laws in this marriage. We know that Your Word commands us to leave our parents and cleave to our spouse, becoming one flesh. "Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they shall be one flesh" (Genesis 2:24). We rebuke any spirit of division, gossip, or strife that they may be sowing into this family. Father, we ask that You open their eyes to see the truth and the consequences of their actions. May they repent and seek to build up this marriage rather than tear it down. We trust in Your justice, Lord, and we know that You will deal with them according to Your will.
We also lift up this wife and her struggles at work. Father, we ask that You grant her favor and wisdom in her job. If it is Your will, provide her the opportunity to work from home, but above all, give her peace and contentment in her work. "And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not to men" (Colossians 3:23). Help her to see her work as an opportunity to serve You and provide for her family. We rebuke any spirit of fear, anxiety, or discouragement that may be weighing on her heart. Strengthen her, Lord, and remind her that You are her Provider and Sustainer.
Father, we ask that You save and bless this family abundantly. Pour out Your grace, mercy, and favor upon them. Heal their hearts, restore their relationships, and provide for all their needs according to Your riches in glory. We declare that this family will walk in unity, love, and purpose, bringing glory to Your name. "Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brothers to live together in unity!" (Psalm 133:1). We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
