Pray for us to get in ### relationship back

I come before You with a heavy heart. I’m in a long-distance relationship with someone I love deeply — a girl who means the world to me. I did everything I could to make her happy, to show her love in the only ways I knew how. I never intended to disrespect her or hurt her in any way. But she feels like I did. Sometimes I didn't understand the boundaries she needed, and I know now how important that was. When I asked for something I cared about, and she said no, I felt sad — but I never forced her. I gave her space. I tried to explain how I felt, but now she believes I’m toxic. She ended our relationship… and now I feel broken. God, I need Your help. I need Your healing — not just for me, but for her too. Please touch her heart. Let her see the truth — that I loved her, that I still love her, and that I never meant to harm her.

Let us begin by lifting up your heavy heart to God, for He is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit Psalm 34:18 WEB. We are reminded that God's ways are not our ways, and His thoughts are not our thoughts Isaiah 55:8 WEB. It is crucial to align our desires with His will and to seek Him first in all things 1 Thessalonians 5:18 WEB.

Firstly, we must address that the request is not in Jesus's name. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. There is no other name under heaven and earth that has been given by which we must be saved Acts 4:12 WEB.

As we consider the struggles in your relationship, especially given the long-distance nature, we must emphasize the importance of God's principles in every union. You mentioned that you never intended to disrespect or hurt her, but unknowingly crossed boundaries she needed. It's crucial to understand that love is patient and kind; it does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things I Corinthians 13:4-7 WEB.

It is troubling that you mentioned that she considers you as toxic as well as that she said no to you and you allowed space but left it at that. The Bible teaches us that If you love someone, you will be loyal to them no matter what the cost. You will always believe in them, always expect the best of them, and always stand your ground in defending them 1 Corinthians 13:7 TPT. Did she explicitly make you aware of what she felt the boundaries were? Did you try to understand her needs better? Did you pray together about the issues? Did you try to see a Christian counselor about the issues to get help?

We need to rebuke the idea that simply giving her space when she said no was enough. The Bible tells us the following in Matthew 18:15-17 WEB:
Moreover if your brother sins against you, go, tell him his fault between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained your brother. But if he doesn't listen, take one or two more with you, that at the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established. If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the assembly. If he refuses to hear the assembly also, let him be to you as a Gentile or a tax collector.

This Biblical principle can be applied to any situation where there is a disagreement or offense, not just when someone sins. It shows that there is a procedure that should be followed when there is a problem.

Let us pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in Jesus's name, lifting up this broken heart. We pray for healing and guidance, that Your will be done in this situation. Touch her heart, Lord, and reveal to her the truth of your love and plans. Open her eyes to see the genuine care and love that was intended, and help them both to heal and move forward according to your will, whether that be together or apart. Help them to learn from this situation and grow stronger in you Jesus.

We also pray that you will convict them both on how to pursue relationships that align with biblical principles and to ultimately seek a godly marriage as you have outlined in your Word. In all circumstances help them to pursue purity and holiness, fleeing from all sexual immorality until in a godly marriage 1 Corinthians 6:18 WEB, Galatians 5:19 WEB.

We acknowledge that this is a challenging time, but we trust in Your goodness and Your plan. Give them both strength and wisdom to navigate this season. Help them to be patient to wait on you and not rush ahead of you. We ask this in Jesus Christ's name. Amen.

Remember, God is faithful, and He will guide you through this. Trust in Him, and He will direct your paths Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB. Be encouraged by the assurance that God can turn even the most painful experiences into opportunities for growth and testimony. Continue to strive to live in a way that is pleasing to God and aligned to His Holy Word. Also, allow God to work on her time table and not rush ahead of what He desires.

Now, spend time and seek God's face in prayer and fasting about the situation. Be sure to surround yourself with a strong Christian community for support, wisdom, and accountability Proverbs 15:22 WEB. If you are not part of a local Christian body then seek one out. If you need help locating one then let us know. God desires for all Christians to be in community with one another and live life together, not apart from each other Acts 2:42-47 WEB.

We're here with you, dear friend. We've felt the weight of your heartache, and we want you to know that you're not alone. We've been praying for you, and we want to encourage you to keep trusting in God's love and care for you both.

Firstly, we want to echo the importance of aligning our desires with God's will. In times like these, it's crucial to seek His face and ask for His guidance. Remember, God's ways are not our ways, and His thoughts are not our thoughts. Trust in Him, and He will direct your paths.

We understand that communication can be challenging, especially in a long-distance relationship. It's important to express your feelings and needs clearly, but also to listen and understand the other person's perspective. Boundaries are a part of healthy communication, and it's essential to respect them. If you're unsure about what boundaries she needs, it's okay to ask and seek understanding.

When there's a disagreement or offense, it's important to follow a process to resolve it. In Matthew 18:15-17, we're told to go to the person directly, then with witnesses, and finally to the church if necessary. This principle can be applied to any situation where there's a problem. It shows that there's a procedure to follow when there's a disagreement.

We want to encourage you to keep praying together, even if it's long-distance. Pray for healing, understanding, and wisdom. Pray for God to reveal the truth to both of you and to help you both grow stronger in Him, whether that's together or apart.

Also, consider seeking help from a Christian counselor. They can provide guidance and tools to navigate this situation. Remember, it's not a sign of weakness to seek help; it's a sign of strength and a desire for growth.

Lastly, we want to remind you that God is faithful. He will guide you through this. Trust in Him, and He will direct your paths. Be patient, wait on Him, and allow Him to work in His time.

We're here for you, and we'll continue to pray for you both.
