Pray for trouble heart

Please lift me up in prayer. I have been carrying a heavy mind lately, and this morning I feel a distinct pulling at my heart. I pray that the Lord will either quiet my spirit with His peace or reveal exactly what He is calling me to understand. I ask this in the powerful name of Jesus Christ. Amen."

We lift you up before the throne of grace today and we join with you in asking the Lord to meet you in this heavy place. We understand that pulling at the heart and heaviness of mind can feel overwhelming, and we thank you for seeking Him so sincerely and for coming in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father.

We are reminded of His promise in Philippians 4:6-7, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. And Jesus Himself says in John 14:27, Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, give I to you. Don't let your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful.

The Lord sees this distinct pulling you feel and He is not distant from it. Psalm 34:18 tells us Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. He also invites us in 1 Peter 5:7 to be casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you. When our hearts are overwhelmed we can pray as in Psalm 61:2, From the end of the earth, I will call to you when my heart is overwhelmed. Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.

And as you have asked Him to either quiet your spirit or reveal what He is calling you to understand, we cling to James 1:5, But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. He is faithful to give wisdom and to give peace in His perfect timing.

We pray together for you now. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we bring our dear one before You who is carrying a heavy mind and feeling a pulling at the heart. Lord, You know the source of this burden even better than we do. We ask that You quiet this troubled heart with Your peace that surpasses all understanding and guard this heart and mind in Christ Jesus. If there is something You are calling Your child to see, to confess, to release, or to obey, reveal it clearly by Your Holy Spirit and through Your Word. Give wisdom liberally, give discernment, and give courage to follow where You lead. Let Your presence be near and let Your still small voice be heard above every anxious thought. We cast this care upon You now because You care so deeply. Restore rest, renew strength, and let Your will be done. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue to wait on the Lord, to be still before Him in prayer and in His Word, and to share your burden with a trusted pastor or mature believer who can walk with you. He is faithful to answer, whether with a deep quieting of your spirit or with clear light for the next step, and we will continue to stand with you in prayer for His peace and guidance.

Thank you for letting us pray with you in this heavy moment. We hear how much you have been carrying, and that sense of pulling at your heart this morning while you are longing for either peace or clear direction.

It makes sense that a troubled mind can leave the whole person feeling unsettled, body and spirit together. We are asking God to meet you right there, to quiet what is stirred and to make His leading clear in the way and timing He knows is best.

If that pulling you mention is a physical sensation in your chest, please have it checked promptly by your doctor or clinic, alongside prayer, just to be sure you are cared for well. And it can help not to carry this alone in the meantime. Consider sharing how you are feeling with a trusted pastor or a close, steady friend who can listen and pray with you face to face this week, and give yourself some unhurried time to rest and bring your thoughts honestly before the Lord without trying to figure everything out at once.

Father, we lift our friend to You today. You see the heaviness and the questions of this morning. Draw near with Your peace, steady this heart, and give wisdom for each next step. We ask for Your care over body and mind and for Your gentle guidance. In Jesus' name, amen.

God, bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You. Bless me to know You, the way You want me to know You. So that I will trust You with my life and anyway that You move in my life. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, lean not to my own understanding, acknowledge You in all my ways, and allow You to direct my footsteps and actions. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God-conscious-solution-focused-heart-mind-spirit-and-attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God, all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, and all those I love and care about. Your troubled heart has been brought before the Lord, and it is a timely and wise thing to bring it to Him, for it is the easiest thing in the world in times of difficulty to let the heart be troubled, and a troubled heart makes that which is bad worse. It magnifies and aggravates and bears no fruit except wormwood.

Hear what your Saviour says to you even now, as He said to His disciples when His own face was toward the Cross and the olivepress of Gethsemane was near at hand, Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. He who speaks is full of love and pity and might, and has it in His own power to make His counsel become prophetic of deliverance. There is no good reason in all the world for such trouble and fear when you are His, for you are forgiven through His atoning blood, and His thoughts toward you are thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

Our peace comes to us by faith, and if faith grows weak our peace declines. Is there no other cure then for a troubled heart. No other is required. This is all sufficient through God. If believing in Jesus you are still troubled, believe in Him again, yet more thoroughly and heartily. Why are you troubled and why do doubts arise in your hearts. Trust Him with all your heart, with all your future, your past, your present, with indeed everything, and you shall feel perfect peace and get strength within to bear.

We lift you up in prayer before our gracious God and Father.

O Lord our God, according to Your own heart You have done great things for us, and Your heart is constant in its affection toward those espoused unto Your Son. Look upon this one who carries a heavy mind and feels a pulling at the heart this morning. Forgive all sin through the blood of Jesus Christ, by whom alone we are saved, and write Your law more fully upon this heart, that it may love Your will and be controlled by it. In Your mercy either quiet the spirit with that great peace which they have who love Your law, a peace which can exist when strife rages all around, or reveal with clear light what You are calling Your child to understand. Let faith drive out fear, let confidence in You keep the heart from being troubled, and let the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, apply the words of Christ to this soul. We ask this in the powerful and precious name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who bore the chastisement of our peace. Amen.
