Pray for ### to win FIFA

Phruoltuerrath

Disciple of Prayer
I know it's silly but I don't think the Lord minds a friendly game. ### is only known for all the mess but please pray that the team will win to maybe bring ### back on the map in a friendly manner and that other countries will grow warm toward the country to help as a result and be more willing to help the country get back on track. No idolatry of sport just friendly game.

We understand your heart behind this request, you desire good for a nation that has faced hardship, and you see this sporting event as a potential opportunity for unity and positive change. While we recognize that sports can be a source of joy and camaraderie, we must also approach this with discernment, ensuring our focus remains on God’s will and not on worldly outcomes.

First, let us address the importance of keeping our priorities aligned with Scripture. The apostle Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 10:31, "Whether therefore you eat, or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God." While there is nothing inherently wrong with enjoying sports, we must guard our hearts against elevating them above God’s purposes. The Lord does care about our joys and passions, but He calls us to seek first His kingdom (Matthew 6:33). If this request is rooted in a desire to see healing and restoration for a nation, then we can pray with that intention in mind.

However, we must also rebuke any hint of idolatry, even if unintentional. The nation you mention has faced significant struggles, and it is right to pray for its people. But we must not place our hope in temporary victories or human efforts alone. True restoration comes from God, not from the outcome of a game. Jeremiah 17:5 warns, "Cursed is the man who trusts in man, and makes flesh his arm, and whose heart departs from Yahweh." Let us pray for the nation’s spiritual renewal above all else, that hearts would turn to Christ and that His peace would reign.

We also want to gently remind you that our prayers must always be offered in the name of Jesus, for there is no other name by which we can approach the Father (John 14:13-14). Salvation comes only through faith in Christ (Acts 4:12), and it is through Him that nations are truly transformed. If the people of this nation do not know Jesus, our greatest prayer should be for their salvation, for that is where lasting hope is found.

With these truths in mind, let us pray:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble hearts, seeking Your will above all else. We lift up this nation before You, asking for Your mercy and grace to rest upon its people. Lord, we know that true change does not come from the outcome of a game, but from hearts surrendered to You. We pray for spiritual revival in this land, that many would come to know Jesus as their Savior and find hope in Him alone.

Father, if it is Your will, we ask that You would bring unity and goodwill through this sporting event. Let it be a moment where people see the humanity and dignity of one another, rather than division. Soften hearts toward this nation, Lord, and stir compassion in others to extend help where it is needed. But above all, we pray for Your kingdom to come and Your will to be done in this place.

We rebuke any spirit of idolatry or misplaced hope in worldly things. May our trust always be in You, the Author of all good things. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus, for His glory and honor. Amen.

We encourage you to continue praying for this nation, not just for temporary relief, but for eternal transformation. Pray for the Gospel to take root, for believers to rise up with boldness, and for God’s love to break down every barrier. May His name be exalted above all else.

It’s such a tender thing to carry the concerns of a nation in prayer, isn’t it? We don’t have to pretend sports aren’t fun or that competition can’t be a bridge, so we’ll lift up that team and ask God to give them focus, sportsmanship, and even victory if it pleases Him. More than the scoreboard, though, we’ll pray for the people behind the players, hearts softened, eyes opened to the hope only Jesus brings, and walls of misunderstanding torn down one brick at a time. Ask the Lord to use any spotlight on the field as a quiet witness of His grace, reminding the world that we’re all broken image-bearers in need of the same Redeemer.

Jesus, we come before You asking for favor to rest on this nation, not because of what they’ve accomplished, but because of who You are. Turn every boast of victory into an echo of Your name. Give athletes strength, coaches wisdom, and fans kindness so that the whole event becomes a gentle nudge toward You instead of a distraction from You. Break the grip of pride and fear alike. Draw hearts to Your Son, and let Your peace rule over stadiums and streets alike. We ask it all in Your holy name.

Thank you so much for this beautiful prayer and for the correction. I surely made the post in a rush and in an attempt to make it short. And yes, I agree the most important desire Our Heavenly Father has is that none perish but that all come to repentance by being believing in Jesus and being born again. All else is second place. Thank you so much for always speaking the truth in love.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We are so grateful you trusted us with this prayer request, even though it felt small to you. We lifted your nation’s team before the Lord, asking Him to work through a simple soccer match to soften hearts and open doors for reconciliation and aid. It was a joy to stand in agreement with you, believing that God cares about every detail—even the ones that seem lighthearted—when they’re offered in faith and love.

If the match has already taken place and your team’s victory became a moment of unexpected grace, please share that praise with us so we can rejoice together. If the outcome wasn’t what you hoped for, or if the situation remains unchanged, we’d be honored to keep praying. You’re welcome to post this request again so we can continue lifting it up before our Father.

Either way, we’re praying that the Lord will bless your nation with healing, unity, and favor, and that He will draw hearts closer to Himself through every circumstance. May you feel His presence and peace as you seek Him through Jesus Christ. In His holy name we pray. Amen.
