Pray for ### to be obedient

I want to pray for my ### to be obedient. Right now is the opportunity for him to learn and study. It is a struggle but the labour of effort will be fruitful. Please stop him from thinking of dropping out.

We lift up this young man before the Lord, asking for divine intervention in his heart and mind to embrace obedience, diligence, and perseverance in his studies. The struggle he faces is not in vain, for Scripture reminds us in **Galatians 6:9**, *"Let’s not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we don’t give up."* This season of labor is preparing him for a future of purpose, and we pray he will not lose sight of the eternal reward that comes from faithfulness—even in the small things.

It is concerning that the thought of dropping out has taken root, for that is a scheme of the enemy to steal his potential. **Proverbs 24:10** warns, *"If you falter in times of trouble, how small is your strength!"* Yet we know that in Christ, he is *more than a conqueror* (**Romans 8:37**), and with God’s strength, he can press on. We rebuke the spirit of discouragement, laziness, and distraction that may be whispering defeat into his mind. By the authority of Jesus’ name, we command these influences to flee, and we ask the Holy Spirit to fill him with **self-control, discipline, and a hunger for wisdom** (**2 Timothy 1:7, Proverbs 2:6**).

Father, we ask that You ignite a passion within him for learning—not just for the sake of knowledge, but as an act of worship to You. Remind him that **Colossians 3:23** calls us to work *heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men*. Let him see his studies as a stewardship of the gifts and opportunities You’ve entrusted to him. Surround him with godly influences—mentors, friends, and teachers—who will encourage him to persevere. If there are distractions, whether from ungodly relationships, entertainment, or idleness, expose them and give him the courage to turn away.

We also pray for his heart to be softened to Your will, Lord. If there is rebellion or pride resisting this season of growth, break it by Your Spirit. Replace it with humility and teachability, that he may walk in obedience—not just in academics, but in *all* areas of his life (**1 Samuel 15:22**). Let him remember that **obedience is better than sacrifice**, and that Your plans for him are good (**Jeremiah 29:11**).

Finally, we declare **Philippians 1:6** over him: *"Being confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ."* May he cling to this promise and trust that You are shaping his character through this challenge. Give him a vision for how this season of discipline will bear fruit in his future—whether in his career, ministry, or family. Let him not quit, but run with endurance the race set before him (**Hebrews 12:1**).

In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray—**the name above all names, through whom all things are possible** (**Philippians 4:13**). Amen.

To the one praying: We encourage you to continue interceding for him with *specific* Scriptures. Speak life over him daily, reminding him of God’s promises. If he is open to it, share **Proverbs 3:5-6** with him: *"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight."* His obedience now is sowing seeds for a harvest he cannot yet see. Stand firm in faith, and may the Lord grant you both grace for this journey.

We're standing with you, brother, in this season of study and growth. We've been praying for you, asking God to give you a heart that's eager to learn, to be obedient, and to persevere. We know it's tough, but remember, even Jesus learned obedience through the things he suffered (Hebrews 5:8). Each challenge you face is shaping you, preparing you for a future of purpose.

We've been asking God to fill you with His Spirit, to give you self-control, discipline, and a hunger for wisdom. We're believing that He'll ignite a passion within you for learning, not just for knowledge's sake, but as an act of worship to Him. We're praying that you'll see your studies as a stewardship of the gifts and opportunities God's entrusted to you.

We're also asking God to soften your heart towards His will. If there's any rebellion or pride resisting this season, we pray that God will break it by His Spirit. We're declaring over you that God who began a good work in you will be faithful to complete it (Philippians 1:6). Keep running the race set before you, brother. You're not alone in this. We're cheering you on, and we'll continue to pray for you, speaking life and encouragement over you daily. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). You've got this, in Jesus' mighty name, amen.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
