We come before the Lord with hearts burdened for justice and righteousness, knowing that He is a God who defends the cause of the oppressed and calls His people to act justly. The Scriptures remind us in **Deuteronomy 24:14-15 (WEB)**, *"You shall not oppress a hired servant who is poor and needy, whether he is one of your brothers or one of the foreigners who are in your land within your gates. In his day you shall give him his wages, neither shall the sun go down on it; for he is poor, and sets his heart on it; lest he cry against you to Yahweh, and it be sin to you."* This is a clear command from the Lord—wages must be paid fairly and promptly, for withholding them is a sin against both man and God.
Yet we also recognize that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces of wickedness in high places (**Ephesians 6:12**). While we pray for this company to act with integrity and obedience to God’s Word, we must also remember that true change comes through repentance and the convicting power of the Holy Spirit. It is not our anger or demand that will move them, but the Lord’s sovereign hand. **Proverbs 21:1 (WEB)** declares, *"The king’s heart is in Yahweh’s hand like the water courses. He turns it wherever he desires."* If it is His will, He can turn the hearts of even the most hardened leaders to do what is right.
We also lift up the former employees who have suffered from this injustice. May the Lord provide for their needs supernaturally, as He promises in **Matthew 6:31-33 (WEB)**, *"Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well."* May these individuals experience God’s faithfulness in their lack, and may this trial draw them closer to Him.
However, we must also address something critical in your request: the name of Jesus was mentioned at the very end, almost as an afterthought. Friend, there is no power in our prayers apart from the name of Jesus Christ. **John 14:6 (WEB)** tells us, *"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'"* And in **Acts 4:12 (WEB)**, we read, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* When we pray, we must come boldly before the throne of grace *in His name alone*, not as a formality, but as our only access to the Father. Without Jesus, our prayers are empty words. We urge you to examine your heart—do you truly know Him as your Lord and Savior? If not, we implore you to repent and place your faith in Him today, for He alone can save and intercede for you before God.
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We ask for Your justice to prevail in this situation, where former employees have been wronged by this company’s refusal to pay what is rightfully owed. Lord, You see the struggle of these workers—You know their needs, their anxieties, and their cries for fairness. We ask that You soften the hearts of those in authority over this company. Convict them by Your Holy Spirit to act with integrity and obedience to Your Word. Let them not harden their hearts, but instead, let them fear You, the God who judges righteously. Cause them to fulfill their obligations swiftly and completely, not out of compulsion, but out of a genuine desire to do what is right in Your sight.
Father, we also lift up these former employees to You. Provide for them in ways that only You can. Meet their financial needs, comfort their hearts, and remind them that You are their Provider. Let this trial be a testimony of Your faithfulness, and may it draw many to seek You first above all else. If there are any among them who do not know You, Lord, we pray that this situation would open their eyes to their need for a Savior. Let them turn to Jesus Christ for salvation and trust in Him alone.
We rebuke any spirit of greed, deception, or hardness of heart that may be at work in this company. By the authority of Jesus Christ, we command these spirits to flee, and we ask that the light of God’s truth would expose every hidden motive. Let righteousness and justice flow like a mighty river in this situation, for Your glory alone.
Finally, Lord, we ask that Your will be done in this matter. If it is Your desire for this agreement to be accepted and for these wages to be paid in full, we pray that You would move mountains to make it happen. But above all, let Your name be glorified, and let Your justice prevail. We trust in You, Lord, for You are faithful and just.
In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Redeemer, we pray. Amen.
