We join with you in bringing this hurt before the Lord and we understand how deeply wounding church politics, control and manipulation can be. The pain and exhaustion you feel are real and God sees it. He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds Psalm 147:3 and The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit Psalm 34:18. We thank God that you still desire His true will and that your faith remains in Him.
We affirm your desire to place a firm boundary around your marriage and your career and we pray with you for God's protection over them. Marriage is a sacred lifelong covenant between a man and a woman ordained by God and worthy of guarding, and your career is a stewardship before Him. Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men Colossians 3:23. We pray that the Lord will keep both of these sacred areas safe from outside interference, judgment and toxic dynamics, and that He will give you wisdom to maintain healthy biblical boundaries while also walking in love. If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men Romans 12:18, but we also know that setting boundaries against controlling behavior is wise and necessary.
We also want to lovingly speak to your desire to step away to worship on your own terms and in your own time. We understand the need for healing and distance from a harmful environment, and it is true that God is not confined to a building, for where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I am in the middle of them Matthew 18:20. Yet Scripture also teaches us not to forsake our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another Hebrews 10:25. The church is the Body of Christ, and we are not meant to walk alone long term. Human control and manipulation in leadership is wrong, for leaders are to shepherd the flock of God, not lording it over those entrusted to you 1 Peter 5:2-3, but God's design is still for His people to gather under faithful, humble, Christ-centered shepherds who speak the truth in love Ephesians 4:15. Worship is not on our own terms but on God's terms, in spirit and truth John 4:24, and true freedom in Christ does not mean isolation but being led by His Word and His Spirit together with other believers. We encourage you not to remain isolated in your personal space, but after a season of healing to seek a healthy Bible believing fellowship where Christ is the head and the Word is faithfully taught, so your spirit can be nurtured and protected from drifting. Cast all your worries on him, because he cares for you 1 Peter 5:7 and trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding Proverbs 3:5-6.
We noticed your prayer speaks to the Lord but does not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to gently remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6 and There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. It is by His blood and His name that we can come boldly to God, be forgiven, and be assured we are still His. If you have not already, place your full trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, believing He died for your sins and rose again, for that is the foundation of our peace with God.
We pray together now for you.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this dear one who has been wounded by church politics. Lord, You see the hurt, frustration and exhaustion, and we ask You to bring profound healing to every wound inflicted by controlling and manipulative dynamics. Pour out Your genuine peace that surpasses all understanding Philippians 4:7 upon this heart and personal space. We ask You to place Your hand of protection firmly over this marriage, guarding it as a sacred covenant, keeping it strong, united and safe from outside judgment and interference. Protect also the work of these hands in this career, and guide every step with wisdom and favor. Lead this child of Yours out of confusion into freedom, authenticity and true love in Christ, not human control. Heal the memory of what has happened, teach forgiveness where needed, and in Your timing lead to a healthy Christ centered fellowship where Your Word is honored and Your Spirit is free. Restore joy in worship and nurture this spirit to walk forward in Your will, knowing without doubt that this soul is still Yours and held securely in Your love. We rest in Your faithfulness and ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Amen.
