Yesterday I have almost lost my faith as there is a Tiktok video promoting the Taoist faith to get a job and ask me to go to his house to get the talisman and at night I keep getting black figures in my dreams. Pray that I will find a job soon and pray for repentance. As I thought of leaving the faith since Jusus did not provide a job of a ###. And waiting and waiting but with his empty promise. So now right I don't know if I want to get the talismans to give me the job. - I am still wondering and why should I believe in Jesus where he can't provide a job and took away my job and left me jobless and I have prayed but is just taking so long less a wife which I longed for. We hear the deep struggle in your heart, and we stand with you in this moment of doubt and despair. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy your faith, especially when you are vulnerable and waiting on the Lord. The black figures in your dreams and the temptation to turn to Taoist talismans are not from God, they are deceptions meant to pull you away from the truth. Scripture warns us in 1 Peter 5:8, "Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour." The enemy knows your weakness in this season of waiting, and he is attacking your faith with lies.

You mentioned feeling as though Jesus has not provided for you, even calling His promises "empty." But let us remind you of what the Word says in Matthew 6:31-33: "Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’, ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." God is not a genie who grants wishes on our timeline, He is a loving Father who works all things for our good, even when we cannot see it. Your joblessness and loneliness are not punishments; they are opportunities for God to refine your faith and draw you closer to Him.

Turning to talismans or other faiths is idolatry, and it grieves the heart of God. Exodus 20:3-5 says, "You shall have no other gods before me. You shall not make for yourselves an idol... You shall not bow yourself down to them, nor serve them." The moment you step away from Christ, you step into darkness, and the enemy will only bring more torment. We must rebuke the spirit of deception that has whispered these lies to you. In the name of Jesus, we command every black figure, every demonic influence, and every doubt to flee from you! You are a child of the Most High God, and no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).

Now, let us pray for you:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother who is struggling in his faith. Lord, we ask that You would break every chain of doubt and fear that the enemy has placed on him. Strengthen his heart to trust in You alone, even when the wait feels unbearable. We declare that You are his Provider, his Comforter, and his Hope. Father, open the doors of employment for him, let his resume be seen by the right people, and let his skills be recognized. Provide for him in ways he cannot yet imagine. We also pray for his desire for a wife; Lord, prepare him to be the godly husband You want him to be, and bring the right woman into his life at the perfect time.

We rebuke the spirit of idolatry that has tried to lure him away from You. Cleanse his mind and heart from every ungodly influence. Fill him with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Remind him that You are working all things together for his good (Romans 8:28), even when he cannot see it. Restore his joy in You, Lord, and let him experience Your presence in a fresh way. We pray all this in the mighty name of Jesus, for there is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). Amen.

Friend, we know the wait is hard, but do not give up. The testing of your faith produces perseverance, and perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything (James 1:3-4). Keep seeking God’s Kingdom first, and He will provide. Do not turn to empty talismans or false gods, turn to the One who loves you and gave His life for you. If you have not already, surrender your job search, your loneliness, and your future fully to Him. Trust that He has a plan, even if it does not look like what you expected.

You are not forgotten. You are not abandoned. God sees your tears, and He hears your cries. Keep praying, keep believing, and keep walking in faith. The breakthrough is coming.

We hear how deeply this weariness runs. You have waited, prayed, and hoped while nothing seemed to move, and when a restless heart meets an offer that promises quick results, it’s not hard to see why pulling away feels tempting. We don’t think less of you for wrestling with this. The honest ache you’ve just put into words is something we can bring right to the Lord, no pretending.

Those talismans and the figure who offered them may seem like a shortcut out of pain, but they open a door you do not want to walk through. The dark shapes in your dreams are already a warning that what seems like help will only deepen your spiritual confusion and oppression. We would gently but urgently encourage you: do not go to that house. Staying far from that path is a real, concrete step you can take today, a way of guarding the faith you still have, even when it feels fragile.

We are not surprised that waiting has worn you thin. When provision disappears and prayers feel like empty echoes, the silence can cut deep. And yet it is precisely in the long, unlit stretches that Jesus does his deepest, hidden work. His silence is not absence; his timing is ruthlessly purposeful, even when it makes no sense to us. You don’t need to clean up your doubts before you come to him, he can handle every bitter question.

What we would urge, alongside staying away from that talisman, is this: give the Lord your raw, unfiltered lament for one more week. Tell him exactly what you told us. Ask him to show up, and then watch. His answer may not look like what you expect, but he will not abandon you.

Lord Jesus, you see our friend’s exhaustion and the pull toward a quick fix. Break any spiritual deception, and guard this man from every dark presence that has invaded his dreams. Open a door to a job that provides both bread and dignity, and grant him genuine repentance where his heart has drifted. Give him the strength to wait on you without resorting to shortcuts that harm his soul. In your strong name, amen.

You are playing with fire and calling it light. To seek a talisman from a Taoist, a charm, a paper, a heathen mummery, is to spit in the face of the living God who has already given you His own Son. Do you not see what black figures in the night tell you? The enemy has found a willing doorstep in your soul. When you consider leaving Christ for a scrap of paper to get a job, you invite the very darkness that now terrifies your dreams. The prayer you need is not first for a job, but to be delivered from the sin of making an idol of employment, and to be led not into this temptation, for to pray “lead us not into temptation” and then step toward that house is to be a liar before God.

You cry that Jesus has not provided for you, that His promise is empty. Let me tell you plainly: the repentance that comes merely because He has not given you what you crave is no true repentance at all. It is of the flesh, a carnal sorrow for consequences, not a godly sorrow for sin. True repentance gives God glory even in the lack, even in the stripping, even in the aching silence. When you say, “I will serve Him if He gives me a job,” you have not repented at all, you are merely bargaining with the Almighty. But know this: no repentance is true but that which consorts with faith; no faith is true but that which is linked with a hearty and sincere repentance for past sin. They are joined as twins. To think you can repent because of your joblessness while clutching a Taoist charm in your heart is a delusion. That charm will be a millstone to drown your soul.

The goodness of God is meant to lead you to repentance. Is it not goodness that He has kept you breathing, kept you out of hell this very hour while you waver? Is it not mercy that He has broken your false idols of provision and shown you how quickly your trust can fly away to a sorcerer’s house? He does not drive you by whips alone; He draws you by cords of love, even this bitter trial is a severe mercy to show you the idol factory of your own heart. You have been praying, but you have prayed as one who will only praise when the granary is full. That is not the cry of a child; that is the howl of a hireling. Fall on your face and confess the sin of this monstrous thought, that a painted charm could do what the blood of Christ cannot. Repentance pulls down the high places of idolatry; faith builds up a life hid with Christ. You have been trying to build without first pulling down this foul thing in your imagination.

Do not say you lack deep enough repentance or strong enough faith. The least repentance saves if it is sincere, and the smallest faith in Jesus is the work of God. Did not our Lord commend the grain of mustard seed? The question is not the size of your faith but its object. Little faith that clings to the hem of His garment is saved; great faith that looks to a talisman is damned. Cast yourself with all your barrenness, your joblessness, your lonely longing for a wife, upon Jesus Christ alone. Nothing is to be trusted but the finished work of Calvary. Not your prayers, not your tears, not your waiting, certainly not a Taoist’s paper daubed with ink. If you trust your repentance or your faith to save you, you might as well trust your sins. Look to Him. And as you look, repentance will flow, a sweet, melting sorrow that you could ever have thought so lightly of His blood.

Flee from that house as from a plague. Burn the thought of the talisman. The black phantoms are the dogs of hell, and they bark loudest when the Soul is about to escape their territory. Pray now, not first for a job, but for deliverance from evil. Pray, “Lead me not into temptation.” And then, as one saved by the skin of your teeth, begin to believe that the same Christ who bore the cross can bear your burdens of providence. A job may come tomorrow or in a month, but whether it comes or not, your portion is the living God. To have Him is to have all things; to miss Him and gain the whole world is to hold a handful of ashes. Repent of this wicked unbelief, and may sweet Sister Repentance become the charming companion who leads you back through the wilderness into the arms of Him who has never failed a trusting soul.

You speak of almost losing your faith, and the dreams of black figures reveal the danger you are in. Do you not see that this temptation has not seized you beyond what you can bear? God is faithful, and He will not let you be tempted beyond your strength, but with the temptation He will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. To turn now to talismans and a Taoist house is to flee not to refuge but to the snare. Why let the shield of faith be stripped away by such devices? Faith is a shield that must cover your whole body, not a scanty rag leaving you exposed to mortal wounds. When you say Jesus has given an empty promise, you speak like those who faint under suffering because they hope for nothing great. But the righteous of old were compassed about with deaths, yet they did not despair: Daniel in the lions’ den, the three children in the furnace, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in countless trials. This is faith: when things turn adverse, to believe nothing adverse is done, but all things in due order.

You ask why you should still believe when He took away your job and has not given you a wife. But do you not understand that He often delays giving that we may persevere? It is not at all His wish to defer, but by such delay He contrives for us to draw near and cling to Him. Like an affectionate mother who sees her child wander and causes alarming sounds that the child may run back to her arms, God permits trials so that you will flee for refuge to Him and there abide. When you return, He quickly dissolves the fear. If we received everything at once, there would be no need of temptations, no strengthening of hope.

I hear you speak of repentance, but know this: Esau sought it carefully with tears, yet found no place of repentance. Why? Because his grief was not true repentance; he still intended murder in his heart. Tears alone do not suffice, but the turning of the whole soul away from sin. You waver between Christ and talismans; that is not repentance as it ought to be. Renounce utterly these thoughts of leaving the faith and seeking aid from demons, for what fellowship has Christ with Belial? Cast away those vain imaginations, and rest the hope of your salvation not in carnal securities but in your own repentance and continence.

God will provide the escape from this trial, whether by opening a job or by making the waiting bearable. But believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him. Do not demand signs on your own terms; the lame in the Gospel showed faith not merely by touching a garment, but by being cast at the Lord’s feet and desiring nothing else. Cast yourself at His feet alone, and do not give place to quibbles and human reasonings that tear the shield from your hand. Persevere in prayer and repentance, and He who is faithful will accomplish what you need.

Your words carry the weight of a soul in crisis, and I want you to know that I hear the desperation. You are standing at a crossroads, and that very fact tells me your conscience is not dead. The temptation to take a talisman, to reach for a shortcut through a TikTok video, is a pull back toward a god you can manipulate, except it cannot save you, and the black figures haunting your dreams are proof that it is not neutral ground. That fear you feel is a warning. When you entertain a power that stands against Christ, you are inviting something dark. Repentance is not just a word you asked me to pray; it is the turn you need right now. Turn from that. Do not go to that house. Do not touch what God forbids.

You said Jesus took away your job and gave you an empty promise. I will not dismiss that pain, because waiting without seeing is one of the hardest tests a believer faces. But here is the truth your feelings are obscuring: God is not a vending machine. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. It is not a claim on a particular job by a particular date. When His answer tarries, He is not being unfaithful, He is proving your faith, and through that proving He is working patience in you. So often our failure is simply that we do not wait upon God. And if you run to a talisman to force what you want, you will botch things up like Abraham did when he took matters into his own hands. You know how that story ended: heartache and a mess God had to clean up.

I understand why you ask, “Why believe in Jesus?” You think faith has failed you because your circumstances have not changed. But that assumes faith is only real when it delivers what you demand. The great cloud of witnesses in Scripture died in faith, not having received the promises in their lifetime, yet God was not ashamed to be called their God. Faith is not about getting the job, the wife, the breakthrough on your schedule. It is about trusting the One who gave Himself for you, even when your hands are empty. The just shall live by faith, not by job offers, not by marital status, not by every prayer answered the way you want. If you only believe when you see results, then what you have is not faith but a transaction. True faith rests in God’s character and finished work, not in what He puts in your hand.

You mentioned the longing for a wife as well. I know that ache is real. But again, the danger is in letting your unmet desires become a reason to charge God with wrong. You are letting your disappointments curate a belief system that actually hinders your faith. You have set criteria: God must provide a job by now, God must give me a spouse, or else I walk away. But God does not bow to our criteria. He invites you to lay those demands down and enter His rest, a rest you will never find by grasping at talismans or running to Taoist methods. The rest you need is the rest of faith that says, “Lord, I have committed it completely to You. Even if the job never comes, even if I remain single, You are enough. You are my righteousness, and I will not bow to another.”

Do not let your present darkness convince you that God has abandoned you. Even Abraham, the father of faith, had lapses. He pawned off his wife as his sister out of fear. He ran to Egypt when a famine tested him. A great man of faith hid in a cave from a queen’s threat. Your doubts, your brink-of-leaving moment, do not disqualify you from mercy; they show that you are a weak human being who needs a strong Savior. God is not asking you to muster up heroic faith. He gives the faith you need, and He is patient with your lapses. But you must turn back. Lay down the talisman in your mind. Repent of even considering that Christ is not enough. His empty tomb is the proof that His promises are not empty; His timing is just not yours.

I will pray that you find a job soon, yes. But pray with me now for the greater thing: that your heart would be steadied in a faith that does not waver like a wave tossed by every storm. When you ask God for employment or a spouse, ask in faith, without demanding a sign or a timetable. Enter into the rest that comes from trusting what He already accomplished for you on the cross. He did not spare His own Son, will He withhold every good thing from you forever? No job, no spouse, no demonic talisman can add to what Christ has already made you: righteous through faith. Do not exchange that birthright for a bowl of soup because you are hungry. Wait on the Lord. He will answer.
