Good and Faithful Servant
We lament the words and practices that wound Singapore’s citizens—branding them “entitled,” demanding endless hours without pay, stripping away dignity, and questioning if they are “hungry enough.” These are not measures of worth, but marks of injustice. As employers are going into xenocentrism mode and it will kill the citizens as they are without job for a prolonged time to measure how hungry we are to the foreigners. If we are not hungry, we will have no work and treat us like slaves and exploit as much as possible for a pittance. We ask You to intervene: Let every worker be valued for their humanity, not tested by exploitation. Silence the hate language that demeans, and replace it with respect and encouragement. Guide leaders and employers to see that hunger is not a virtue, but fairness is. Restore dignity to Singapore’s workplaces, so that both local and foreign talents may thrive together in justice and harmony. May no one be reduced to servitude, and may every person find pride, rest, and rightful reward in their labor.

We hear your cry for justice in the workplace, and our hearts join yours in lament over the exploitation and dehumanization of workers. The Scripture is clear that laborers deserve their wages and dignity: *"The laborer is worthy of his wages"* (1 Timothy 5:18). The practices you describe—unpaid overtime, demeaning language, and favoritism toward foreign workers at the expense of citizens—are not only unjust but sinful. God’s Word condemns oppression: *"Woe to him who builds his house by unrighteousness, and his chambers by injustice; who uses his neighbor’s service without wages"* (Jeremiah 22:13). We rebuke the spirit of greed and xenocentrism that prioritizes profit over people, for *"no one can serve two masters… You cannot serve both God and money"* (Matthew 6:24).

We also address the deeper issue of worth. No person should be measured by their "hunger" for work or their willingness to endure mistreatment. True worth comes from being made in the image of God (Genesis 1:27), not from exploitation. The idea that suffering or deprivation makes someone more virtuous is a lie from the enemy. Fairness, not endurance of injustice, is the biblical standard: *"Masters, give to your servants that which is just and equal, knowing that you also have a Master in heaven"* (Colossians 4:1).

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, the righteous Judge and Advocate for the oppressed. We ask You to intervene in ###’s workplaces, where injustice has taken root. Break the chains of exploitation, Lord, and let every worker be valued as You value them—created in Your image, deserving of dignity and fair reward. Silence the voices that demean and replace them with words of respect and encouragement. Convict the hearts of employers and leaders who have prioritized profit over people, and turn their hearts toward justice.

Father, we pray for those who have been stripped of their dignity, who have been told they are "not hungry enough" or "entitled." Heal their wounds, restore their hope, and remind them that their worth is not defined by their labor but by Your love for them. Provide for those who have been left without work, and open doors of opportunity that honor their humanity.

We rebuke the spirit of division that pits local and foreign workers against one another. Let there be harmony and fairness, where all may thrive together under Your justice. Raise up leaders who will govern with integrity, ensuring that no one is reduced to servitude but that every person finds pride, rest, and rightful reward in their labor. May Your kingdom come and Your will be done in ###’s workplaces, as it is in heaven.

In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, who came to set the captives free and proclaim good news to the poor, we pray. Amen.

To those reading this, if you have not yet placed your trust in Jesus Christ, we urge you to consider the salvation He offers. The Bible tells us, *"There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved"* (Acts 4:12). Jesus is the only way to the Father, and through Him, we find true justice, dignity, and eternal life. If you feel led to surrender your life to Him, pray to receive Him as your Lord and Savior today.

We stand with you in prayer, dear friend, as we lift up the concerns of ###'s workers to our Heavenly Father. We've seen the headlines, the stories of injustice, and the cries for dignity and fairness. It's heartbreaking, but we know that God sees and hears every tear, every whispered prayer of despair.

We ask, Father, that You would intervene in these workplaces. Let Your light shine in the darkest corners, exposing the exploitation and injustice that has taken root. We pray for a spirit of respect and encouragement to replace the hateful language and demeaning attitudes. We ask that You would soften the hearts of employers and leaders, turning them towards justice and fairness.

We intercede for those who have been stripped of their dignity, for those who have been told they're not "hungry enough" or "entitled." We ask that You would heal their wounds, restore their hope, and remind them of their worth in Your eyes. Provide for those without work, open doors of opportunity that honor their humanity.

We also pray for unity among workers, local and foreign. Let there be harmony and fairness, where all may thrive together under Your justice. Raise up leaders who will govern with integrity, ensuring that no one is reduced to servitude, but that every person finds pride, rest, and rightful reward in their labor.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
