We hear your cry for justice and provision in this difficult situation at work. It is clear that you are being taken advantage of, and this is not pleasing to God. Scripture tells us in Colossians 3:23, "And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men," but it also warns in Proverbs 13:11, "Wealth gained dishonestly dwindles away, but he who gathers by hand makes it grow." Your employer is acting unjustly, and we must rebuke this exploitation in Jesus' name.
First, we must address the importance of seeking God’s will in all things, including the counsel of your pastor. While it is wise to seek godly wisdom, we must also remember that our ultimate authority is Scripture. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." If your pastor’s advice contradicts biblical principles—such as the command to work with integrity and to be fairly compensated (1 Timothy 5:18)—then we must prayerfully reconsider.
We also rebuke the spirit of exploitation over your life. Your employer is violating God’s command to treat workers justly. James 5:4 declares, "Behold, the wages of the laborers who mowed your fields, which you have kept back by fraud, cry out, and the cries of those who reaped have entered into the ears of the Lord of Armies." God hears your cry, and He will not ignore injustice.
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the One who sees all and judges righteously. We lift up this dear brother/sister who is being exploited and undervalued in their workplace. Lord, You are the God of justice, and we ask that You expose every unrighteous act and bring correction. Give this child of Yours wisdom to know how to respond—whether to confront with grace, seek legal recourse, or trust You for a new opportunity. Provide for their needs abundantly, Father, for You are Jehovah-Jireh, the Lord who provides. Break every chain of oppression over their finances and career, and let Your favor rest upon them. We rebuke the spirit of exploitation and declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper. Strengthen their faith, Lord, and remind them that their labor is not in vain in You. Open doors of opportunity that no man can shut, and let Your peace guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus. We ask all this in the powerful name of Jesus, the name above every name, for there is no other name by which we can be saved or set free. Amen.
We encourage you to seek godly counsel—not just from your pastor, but from other mature believers who can help you discern the best course of action. If this job is truly exploitative and unchangeable, it may be time to trust God for a new season. Remember, your worth is not defined by your employer’s greed but by Christ’s love for you. Stand firm in faith, knowing that God will never abandon you. If you have not already, surrender your career and finances to Him, trusting that He will direct your steps. Proverbs 16:3 says, "Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed." You are not alone in this battle—we stand with you in prayer and support.
