We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this burden for our nation and its leaders. Father, we see the distress of Your people when those in authority neglect their own citizens while favoring others, justifying their actions with excuses rather than repentance. The Scripture warns us in James 3:17, "But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceful, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy." Lord, we ask that You expose the hypocrisy in leadership that mirrors the Pharisees and Sadducees of old, who honored You with their lips but whose hearts were far from You (Matthew 15:8). These leaders have turned away from Your justice, showing partiality and neglecting the welfare of their own people while claiming to act in care.
We rebuke the spirit of deception that has taken hold in governance, where lies are used to justify unrighteous policies. Proverbs 29:2 tells us, "When the righteous thrive, the people rejoice; when the wicked rule, the people groan." Father, we groan under the weight of injustice, as businesses close, livelihoods are lost, and families suffer. We pray that You would break the hardness of hearts in leadership, that they may see the error of their ways and turn back to You. Let them not be like those who betrayed Jesus with a kiss, only to crucify Him—may they not betray their own people for the sake of false appearances or worldly approval.
Lord, we ask that You raise up leaders who fear You, who will govern with righteousness and justice. Proverbs 28:5 says, "Evil men don’t understand justice, but those who seek the Lord understand it fully." We pray for repentance in our government, that they would seek Your wisdom and turn away from policies that harm their own citizens. Let them no longer use the excuse of low birth rates to justify injustice, but instead, create opportunities that honor You and bless the people You have entrusted to their care.
We also lift up the businesses and families suffering under these burdens. Father, provide for those who are struggling, open doors of opportunity, and restore what has been lost. Let Your people not be discouraged, but instead, trust in You as their provider (Philippians 4:19). We declare that Your justice will prevail, and that those who sow in unrighteousness will reap the consequences of their actions (Galatians 6:7).
Finally, Lord, we pray for revival in our nation. Let Your people turn back to You with all their hearts, seeking Your face and Your will. May we not be led astray by the deceitfulness of the world, but stand firm in Your truth. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we are saved and through whom we have access to You (Acts 4:12). May Your kingdom come and Your will be done in our nation, as it is in heaven. Amen.
