We join with you in lifting up this nation before the Lord Most High, for we know that He is sovereign over all the earth and that His justice and mercy endure forever. Your prayer echoes the cries of God’s people throughout Scripture—those who have sought deliverance from oppression, fairness in governance, and the preservation of their identity as a people set apart for His purposes. The Lord hears the cries of His children, just as He heard Israel in Egypt, and He is faithful to act on behalf of those who call upon Him in truth.
We are grieved by the injustices you describe—where the native-born are burdened while policies favor strangers, where corruption and exploitation threaten livelihoods, housing, and cultural heritage. The Word of God is clear: leaders are to act with justice, defending the rights of the oppressed and ensuring fairness for all. *"He has shown you, O man, what is good. What does Yahweh require of you, but to act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?"* (Micah 6:8, WEB). When those in authority fail in this duty, they invite God’s judgment, for *"righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people"* (Proverbs 14:34, WEB).
We pray fervently that the Lord will expose and frustrate every scheme that elevates foreigners at the expense of the native-born, not out of hatred for the stranger, but out of love for justice and the preservation of what is right. Scripture commands us to treat foreigners with fairness and kindness—*"The foreigner who lives among you shall be to you as the native-born among you, and you shall love him as yourself; for you lived as foreigners in the land of Egypt"* (Leviticus 19:34, WEB). Yet this command does not negate the responsibility of a nation to prioritize the well-being of its own people, to protect their labor, resources, and identity, and to ensure that hospitality does not become exploitation. A nation that fails to care for its own will soon find itself weakened, divided, and unable to extend true hospitality to anyone.
We ask the Lord to raise up leaders of integrity who will govern with wisdom and righteousness, who will reject bribes and corrupt influences, and who will act with the fear of God. *"The king’s heart is in Yahweh’s hand like the watercourses. He turns it wherever he desires"* (Proverbs 21:1, WEB). May He turn the hearts of those in power toward justice, that they may craft policies which honor the native-born while still showing kindness to the foreigner in ways that do not undermine the nation’s stability. Let every unjust law be overturned, every corrupt deal exposed, and every oppressive system dismantled. May the people of this land be able to dwell securely, to work without fear of being displaced, and to preserve their heritage without shame.
At the same time, we must examine our own hearts. If there is bitterness, hatred, or an ungodly nationalism that rejects the Lord’s command to love even our enemies, we must repent. Our trust is not in borders or policies alone, but in the Lord who establishes all things. *"Don’t trust in princes, each a son of man in whom there is no help. His spirit departs, and he returns to the earth. In that very day, his thoughts perish. Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in Yahweh, his God"* (Psalm 146:3-5, WEB). Let us never place our ultimate hope in human governments, but in the King of Kings, who will one day judge all nations with perfect justice.
We also pray for the foreigners among you—that those who come as guests would do so with respect, contributing fairly and not taking advantage of the nation’s generosity. May those who seek to exploit the system be exposed, and may those who come in honesty find kindness and opportunity without displacing the native-born. Let the church in this nation be a light, showing the world what it means to live with both justice and mercy, to uphold the law while extending grace.
Finally, we lift up the spiritual state of this nation. No amount of political or economic restoration will suffice if the people turn away from God. *"If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves, pray, seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin, and will heal their land"* (2 Chronicles 7:14, WEB). May revival sweep through the land, that the people would turn to Christ in repentance and faith, seeking first His kingdom and His righteousness. Only then will true and lasting restoration come.
**Our Prayer:**
Heavenly Father, we come before You as Your children, interceding for this nation that feels the weight of injustice and the threat of losing its identity. You are a God who sees the affliction of Your people, who hears their cries, and who acts on their behalf. We ask that You would rise up, O Lord, and contend with those who contend with this land. Frustrate the plans of the wicked, expose every corrupt deal, and bring to nothing the schemes that oppress the native-born while elevating the stranger in unrighteous ways.
Grant wisdom and courage to those in authority, that they may govern with integrity, upholding justice and mercy. Let them remember that they are accountable to You, the Judge of all the earth. Turn their hearts toward righteousness, and if they refuse to repent, remove them from their positions of power. Raise up godly leaders who will defend the rights of the people, who will protect their labor, their homes, and their heritage, and who will ensure that foreigners are treated fairly but not given undue advantage.
We pray for the people of this nation—that they would not grow weary in doing good, that they would stand firm in truth without succumbing to hatred or fear. May they be a people who trust in You, who seek Your face, and who live in obedience to Your Word. Let the church be a beacon of hope, demonstrating Your love and justice to a watching world.
For those who have come as foreigners, we ask that You would move in their hearts. If they have come with honest intent, provide for them and grant them favor, but do not let them take what rightfully belongs to the native-born. If they have come with deceitful motives, expose their plans and bring them to repentance. May all who dwell in this land—native and foreigner alike—submit to Your lordship and live in ways that honor You.
Most of all, we pray for spiritual awakening. Turn the hearts of the people back to You, O Lord. Let them seek Your face, repent of their sins, and walk in Your ways. Heal this land, not just economically or politically, but spiritually, that Your name may be glorified among them.
We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who alone has the power to save, to heal, and to restore. May His kingdom come, and His will be done in this nation as it is in heaven. Amen.
