Faithful Servant
O Lord Jesus,
Judge of the nations and Defender of the poor,
look upon the unrepentant rulers of this land.

They have opened the gates to foreigners,
not to bless, but to oppress;
they have wounded the economy,
and brought harm upon the citizens whom You love.

They have made us strangers in our own country,
and exalted wealth above righteousness.
They have silenced the cries of the locals,
mocked the pleas of the needy,
and scorned those who would stand for truth.

For the sake of gain they have betrayed their people;
for the sake of power they have despised justice.
They have neglected the poor,
burdened the weak,
and turned their hearts against their own.
`
Arise, O Lord, and cast judgment!
Thwart their schemes to replace the locals;
frustrate their plans that bring injustice;
let their plots be overturned by Your mighty hand.

May their corruption be exposed,
their pride brought low,
their arrogance cut off.
Let not decay consume this land,
but let Your righteousness shine forth again.

Hear the cry of Your people, O Lord Jesus;
vindicate the oppressed,
and restore this nation in Your truth.

Amen.

We join with you in lifting this cry before the Lord, for He alone is the Judge of all the earth, and His justice is perfect. Your prayer echoes the heart of the righteous who long for God’s will to be done in the land, where leaders govern with integrity and the people flourish under His righteousness. The Scriptures remind us that God is deeply grieved by corruption, oppression, and the exploitation of the vulnerable. He hears the cries of His people and will act in His perfect timing.

The Lord declares through the prophet Isaiah, *"Woe to those who decree unrighteous decrees, and to the writers who write oppressive statutes; to turn away the needy from justice, and to rob the poor among my people of their rights, that widows may be their plunder, and that they may make the fatherless their prey!"* (Isaiah 10:1-2, WEB). This is a solemn warning to those in authority who use their power to harm rather than to protect. The Lord also says, *"For the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the needy, now I will arise,” says Yahweh; “I will set him in safety from those who malign him"* (Psalm 12:5, WEB). He does not ignore the affliction of His people, nor does He tolerate the arrogance of those who reject His ways.

Yet we are also reminded in 1 Timothy 2:1-2 to pray *"for kings and all who are in high places; that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence."* Even in our righteous anger, we must pray for the salvation of those in authority, that they may repent and turn to the Lord. The apostle Peter tells us, *"The Lord isn’t slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness; but he is patient with us, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance"* (2 Peter 3:9, WEB). Our ultimate desire should be that even the unrepentant rulers would encounter the convicting power of the Holy Spirit and bow before Jesus Christ as Lord.

At the same time, we must not forget that God’s judgment is real, and it will come upon those who persist in wickedness. The psalmist declares, *"The wicked plots against the just, and gnashes at him with his teeth. The Lord will laugh at him, for he sees that his day is coming. The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow, to cast down the poor and needy, to kill those who are upright in the way. Their sword shall enter into their own heart. Their bows shall be broken"* (Psalm 37:12-15, WEB). The schemes of the wicked will not prevail, for the Lord is sovereign over all.

We also encourage you to remember that while we pray for justice, our hope is not ultimately in earthly rulers or systems, but in the kingdom of God. Jesus told us, *"My Kingdom is not of this world"* (John 18:36, WEB). Our citizenship is in heaven (Philippians 3:20), and we are called to live as ambassadors of Christ, proclaiming His truth and love even in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, grieving over the corruption and injustice that have taken root in our land. You are the God of justice, the Defender of the oppressed, and the Judge of all the earth. We ask that You arise, O Lord, and let Your enemies be scattered. Frustrate the plans of the wicked who seek to harm Your people and exploit the vulnerable. Expose their corruption, bring low their pride, and turn their hearts to repentance—or if they refuse, let their schemes be overturned by Your mighty hand.

Lord Jesus, we pray for those in authority, that You would convict them of their sin and draw them to Yourself. Softening their hearts to hear Your voice and turn from their wicked ways. Raise up godly leaders who will govern with wisdom, integrity, and a fear of You. Let righteousness flourish in our land, and may Your truth prevail over every lie and deception.

Father, we also ask for Your protection over Your people. Strengthen those who stand for truth, and give them courage to speak boldly in the face of opposition. Provide for the poor and the needy, and let Your church be a beacon of hope and justice in this dark world.

We trust in Your sovereignty, knowing that You hold the hearts of kings in Your hand (Proverbs 21:1). May Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. We ask all this in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

Dear friend,

We stand with you in prayer, lifting our voices together to cry out to our Heavenly Father. We're troubled by the same things you are - the corruption, the oppression, the disregard for the poor and needy. It's easy to feel helpless, but remember, God sees, God hears, and God cares.

Let's pray:

Lord Jesus, we come to You today, burdened by the state of our nation. We pray for our leaders, that You would soften their hearts and draw them to Yourself. Convict them of their sin, Lord, and help them to see the error of their ways. Give them a heart for justice, for the poor, for the needy, for the stranger in our midst. Help them to lead with integrity, wisdom, and a fear of You.

We pray for the economy, Lord. We ask that You would heal our land. Bring prosperity, but more importantly, bring righteousness. Let the wealth of our nation be used to bless, not oppress.

We pray for the citizens, Lord. Give us courage to speak up, to stand for truth, to love our neighbors as ourselves. Help us to be salt and light in a dark world.

We trust in Your sovereignty, Lord. We know that You are in control, that You have a plan, and that You will bring justice in Your time. Help us to be patient, to keep praying, to keep trusting.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Lord Jesus please richly bless, protect and guide them. Please help them in accordance with your perfect will Father. Thank you and praise you. In your holy name I pray. Amen.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
