Faithful Servant
I am writing to urgently raise concerns about the increasing reliance on foreign workers in Singapore and its negative impact on local businesses and the economy. Many shops here are facing bankruptcy as Singaporeans increasingly shop in Johor Bahru to find better prices and value. This cross-border shopping trend is often a deliberate choice by Singaporeans to express their dissatisfaction with businesses that hire foreigners instead of locals. It is a way to send a clear message that such hiring practices are not supported by citizens. This has caused frustration among shop owners and has led to some businesses not being shortlisted for business because they prioritize foreign workers over Singaporean employees. The preference for foreign labour reduces job opportunities and suppresses wages for locals, which in turn weakens the purchasing power of Singaporeans. This cycle leads to declining local spending, shop closures, and overall economic weakening. I urge the government to take immediate action towards the total elimination of foreign labour in Singapore and to commit to a 100% Singaporean workforce. Doing so will help protect local jobs, support businesses, and restore the strength of Singapore’s retail and service sectors. If this issue is not addressed urgently, we will see more shop closures, higher unemployment among citizens, and a growing economic drain as Singaporeans spend more outside our borders. This feedback reflects the concerns of many Singaporeans who want their country to prioritize its own people and economy first. I hope the government will consider this seriously and act decisively.

We understand your concerns about the economic challenges facing Singapore and the impact of foreign labor on local businesses and employment opportunities. We will lift up these concerns in prayer, seeking God's wisdom and guidance for the government and the people of Singapore. It is important to remember that our ultimate trust should be in God, who provides for our needs and guides our steps.

The Bible reminds us in Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." We should also be mindful of the biblical principle of loving our neighbors as ourselves, as stated in Matthew 22:39, "The second is like this, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’"

While addressing economic concerns, it is crucial to approach the situation with a heart of compassion and a desire for justice, rather than resentment or division. The Bible encourages us to seek the welfare of our community and nation, as seen in Jeremiah 29:7, "Seek the peace of the city where I have caused you to be carried away captive, and pray to Yahweh for it; for in its peace you shall have peace."

We pray that the government of Singapore will be guided by wisdom and discernment in making decisions that will benefit its citizens and promote a strong and prosperous economy. We also pray for unity and understanding among the people, that they may work together for the common good.

Heavenly Father, we come before you with hearts full of concern for the nation of Singapore. We ask for your divine intervention and guidance in the face of economic challenges. Lord, we pray that you would grant wisdom to the government leaders, that they may make decisions that promote the welfare of all citizens and foster a strong and vibrant economy.

We ask for your provision and protection over local businesses, that they may thrive and provide employment opportunities for the people of Singapore. Help the citizens to come together in unity, seeking the common good and supporting one another in love.

We pray for a spirit of innovation and creativity to be poured out upon the people, that they may find new ways to strengthen the economy and promote local industries. Lord, we ask that you would open doors of opportunity for those who are struggling to find work, and that you would provide for their needs.

We also pray for a heart of compassion and understanding to be fostered among the people, that they may treat one another with kindness and respect, regardless of their background or nationality. Help them to remember that they are all created in your image and are precious in your sight.

Finally, Lord, we pray that the people of Singapore would turn to you in their time of need, seeking your guidance and provision. May they come to know you as their loving Father and Provider, and may they find their hope and security in you.

We ask all these things in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who teaches us to love one another and seek the welfare of our communities. May your will be done in Singapore, and may your name be glorified. Amen.

We encourage you to continue to pray for your nation and its leaders, seeking God's wisdom and guidance in all things. Trust in His provision and care, and remember that He is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine. Stay rooted in His love and grace, and may His peace guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus.

Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We want to thank you for allowing us the honor of lifting this burden for ### and its people before the Lord. It has been our privilege to stand with you in prayer, seeking God’s wisdom and intervention over the economic challenges facing local businesses, workers, and families. We know this is a deeply personal and urgent concern—not just for you, but for the livelihoods of many ###ans who desire fairness, opportunity, and a thriving nation built on the strength of its own people.

As we continue to pray, we are reminded of Proverbs 21:1, which tells us that the Lord can turn the heart of leaders like rivers of water. We trust He is at work, even now, softening hearts and opening doors for policies that will restore dignity to local labor, revive struggling businesses, and keep prosperity within ###’s borders. We also pray for creative solutions—ways for citizens to support one another, for employers to recognize the value of hiring locally, and for a spirit of unity that transcends frustration and points toward hope.

If God has moved in this situation—whether through shifts in policy, renewed opportunities for local workers, or even a stirring in the hearts of your fellow citizens to stand together—we would love for you to share a praise report with us. Your testimony could encourage others who are praying for their nations’ economies and workforces.

If the struggle persists, please don’t hesitate to bring this request before us again. We are committed to contending with you in prayer until we see God’s justice and provision manifest. Let us also remember that our ultimate trust is not in governments or economies, but in Christ, who holds all authority and who calls us to seek first His kingdom (Matthew 6:33). May He grant you perseverance, wisdom, and a deep sense of His presence as you advocate for your country.

We are praying in Jesus Name.
